Mighty Boof Promotions / Events The Mighty Boof Promotions. Whitehaven based Music promoters and event organisers. This event was another 1000 capacity sell out. Without you, we are nothing.

We (The Mighty Boof) were born out of frustration of the lack of Live music in the area. Our dream was to not only get the Local Live music scene back on track, and give talented locals a chance to perform on big stages but to get to the point where the big players in the music industry considered our area to be part of the national touring band circuit. From the Boofs birth we started out sourcin

g talent from out of the area and mixing it with our home grown acts creating a night or day out that West Cumbria hadn’t seen in years. The success of these events proved that the demand was there and so we have been doing these sorts of gigs ever since, always making sure that we give local musicians the best platform possible. We have worked tirelessly to ensure that our area is considered by the bigger acts and are very proud to now be promoting national touring bands all across Cumbria. As well as the above we have hosted stages at Kendal Calling and the Whitehaven festival. As well as working very closely with the Whitehaven Civic Hall on all the shows they have produced there. In 2009 we ran CockRock’s dance tent and continue to do so along with booking all the top acts who play across the festival. Also in 2010 we agreed to run Beckfest which proved to be a massive success and a sold out event. In 2011 we have built our own mini festival Mighty boof At the Playground 2 day event from scratch and put together a line up that gives our locals a chance to play the same stage as some major acts. To cap it all in 2011 Gerard from the Whitehaven festival has asked us to host the 2000 capacity arena from now on on the Sunday of the festival as well as the other two stages we host. We really do feel like we have now achieved what we set out to do and are now keen to see how far we can go; Who knows what the future holds. So after so many gigs and festivals, and all dayers we have lost count gigs we thank you for your support over the last few years. This page was created for gigs 2011 onwards. Such a sad day today thinking of all the memories we had with Andrew Metcalfe over the Boof years such a talent he was, Solo and with Sound of guns i don’t think we have seen a more passionate energetic front man grace our stages…

if we were to pick one memory out of all the great ones we have, it was when he came to play a gig at the Civic Hall in Whitehaven which actually turned out to be Sound of Guns last ever gig,he turned up with a shaved head (never seen before) he said the reason being was that this was their last gig as they were splitting up and he would only grow it back when they got back together!
That was Andy Metcalfe for you!!!!

Gonna be a miss….what a guy what a voice…

I just wanna send my thanks out there to a few

Firstly thanks to all Bands and acts and DJs that ever played we’ve had so many of you over 17 years it’s impossible to thank you all, but you made it what it was

Thanks to everyone that bought a ticket to any of our events your support has been fantastic,

Special thanks goes to Chris Lockie for organising the Dj’s over the last few years.
All the lads and lasses who helped out on the site and never took any payment just doing it for the love of music

Gav Spence I wish you had been there from the beginning my man, made life a hell of a lot easier these last 2 events thank you mate for everything you done legend!!!

Also wanna thank Couch for starting the dream with me and David Eldon for continuing and getting us going with the playground events which took us up a level

Last two thanks go to Elizabeth Cannon you are the Lynch pin that holds this s**t together could not have taken it as far as it went without you,
everyone needs a Lizzy and you held it all together thank you so much x

And my last thank you goes to my wife Leah Maudling she has always been there and probs got to enjoy the gigs a lot more than I did at times but you’ve put up with this for 17 years at times it’s been hard but it’s been a blast!!!!

Without you we were nothing we made some fantastic memories together

Important information

1. Ticket Access and QR Code Entry:
To access your tickets, please follow the link that has been emailed to you. Ticket links have been resent out to the lead purchaser - any new tickets bought today or yesterday will have been emailed over from eventsframe. Please check your junk mail as they often go in there. Once you've accessed the link, click on "Print Ticket" for each individual ticket. This will generate the QR code required for entry. Please have your QR code ready to be scanned when you arrive at the festival. You can choose to either print the QR code or have it available on your phone for scanning. You do not need to all arrive together as long as everyone has their own individual QR code.

Last entry is 7pm on both days.

2. Card Payment Only:
We'd like to inform you that the entire festival, including the bars, will be operating on a card payment only basis. Please ensure you have your cards or digital wallet/Apple Pay ready for all transactions.

3. Challenge 25 ID Policy:
Please note that Challenge 25 is in operation at all of our bars. The only forms of ID accepted for age verification are passports or driving licenses. Make sure to bring a valid form of ID if you plan to purchase alcohol at the festival.

4. Transportation and Parking:
There is no parking available on site. We kindly ask that you leave your cars at home and consider using alternative transportation options such as carpooling, public transport, or taxis. The event will finish at 23:00.

5. Food and Drink Policy:
No outside food or drink is allowed to be brought onto the festival site unless required for a medical reason. We will have food and beverage options available on site for you to enjoy.

6. Seating and Standing:
While camp chairs are permitted, please be aware that The Boof music festival is primarily a standing gig. Feel free to bring camp chairs, but keep in mind that the majority of the event will involve standing and dancing.

7. Festival Gate Opening Times:
The festival gates will open at 13:00 on Friday and 12:00 on Saturday. Make sure to arrive early so you can fully enjoy the festivities! Last entry is 7pm on both days.

Introducing our new addition FLYNT, these guys will play Friday main stage on the last ever boof.

You may recognise these band members from over the last 17 Boof years, from Steve doing lights, Calvin in Papa Quebec, Emma with Balmoral Road, and to Brad who even headlined one of our Boxing Day Boof's.

4 of Cumbria's best musicians formed a band FLYNT, anyone who has seen the guys before know what a performance they will put on

We understand this is disappointing.....

HOWEVER!

We can confirm that CAST will now be performing at Whitehaven Alive in September 2024 - date to be confirmed very soon.
