A very special thanks to Matt and Lorraine who have gone out of their way for months to make it happen. The most selfless people we will ever know. They truly put everything into it and give up so much of their time and effort. They never fail to show up for everyone around them and we are so lucky to have them in our lives💙

Earlier this month, our wonderful supporters Matt and Lorraine Brown organised their much-loved event, The Brightest Star - a joyful, family fun day held in memory of their daughter, Alexys 💙

Thanks to the amazing support of their friends, family, and the Weymouth community, the event raised an outstanding £11,160 for Dreamflight!

We are, as always, so grateful to Matt, Lorraine, and everyone who helps make The Brightest Star such a special day 🌟

Thank you for another incredible year at the Brightest Star Family Fun Day! ⭐️

A massive thank you to each and every person who contributed in some way. Whether you sponsored us, donated, volunteered your time, turned up on the day, supported the stalls or simply shared our posts and helped spread the word - we couldn’t have done it without you.❤️

A huge thank you to all of the amazing bands who gave up their time and played for us completely free of charge. You were absolutely fantastic and helped make the day what it was!🎶

And now for the bit we’ve all been waiting for…… 🥁🥁🥁

After all expenses have been paid, along with donations to Weymouth Cougars and Twirl Academy, we are absolutely delighted to announce that the total raised is…

Every penny of that will go directly to Dreamflight ✈️💙

Thankyou to everybody who came to celebrate Alexys, we are so beyond lucky to have the community that we do. Alexys was surrounded by so many people that loved her, and days like that really prove it.

Before we announce the final total of how much we have raised for Dreamflight, we think it’s important to remember the reason behind The Brightest Star.
When we lost Alexys in 2015, our lovely friends held an event named ‘The Brightest Star’ to raise money and help us through the depths of our darkness. In 2025, on the approach to the 10 year anniversary of Alexys’ death, we took over ‘The Brightest Star’ name with a whole new meaning. Remembering Alexys while raising money for such an incredible cause, that has remained so close to our hearts.💙
The Brightest Star was created for us to share the light Alexys brought to the world, with the community who so gracefully held us together.🩷
To Alexys, we hope you can see how loved and missed you truly are.
And to the community, thank you for helping us keep Alexys’ memory alive.🌟💙
