THE ANGLIRU AWAITS

This Saturday 9th May, the world’s best female riders at La Vuelta Femenina, will take on one of the most fearsome climbs in cycling – the legendary Alto de l’Angliru.

With brutally steep ramps, relentless gradients and a reputation forged in sweat, suffering and history, the Angliru isn’t just a climb, it’s a rite of passage. A place where legends are made, and limits are tested.

And come June, our Badgers Ride riders will face the same challenge – same road, same gradients, same mythical mountain.

For the pros and amateurs, the Angliru shows no mercy.

Our first ride of the year is underway! 12 riders are making the 523m journey from Cardiff to Paris in support of MedserveWales.

Day 1 is complete and saw them start in Cardiff and finish in Frome, the toughest day with the highest elevation out of the 4. Today will see them finish in Portsmouth for a well-earned dinner before boarding the overnight ferry to Caen.

They'll then have 2 days cycling in France, stopping overnight in Evreux before finishing in front of the famous Eiffel Tower, followed by a celebration email in a local Parisian restaurant.

We are looking for a passionate cyclist who is organised, has a good attention to detail and wants to get things right. You will need to demonstrate previous experience of working in an office to deliver outdoor itinerant events.

You will be responsible for designing cycling events to meet the client’s brief, win the business, project manage the creation of the event through to the point of delivery, and take responsibility for the success and profitability of that event.

Amazing news, congratulations, Andy! See you in Spain in June for this year's Badgers ride in support of Action Medical Research 🚵

We are so proud to hear that long-time Action supporter, Andy Dewhurst was recognised in the King's New Year Honours List for 2026.

Andy has been awarded a British Empire Medal (BEM) in the New Year Honours list for his contribution in leading the annual Badgers cycling event and raising well over £2m for Action’s vital work.

Thank you Andy for your commitment, this is well deserved and truly special news to hear as we returned to our desks this week to start a New Year.
