We meet on the 4th Thursday of the month, except December and August, at Bleadon Village Hall from 7:30 to 9:30 for demonstrations and workshops about all aspects of sugarcraft.

On Thursday the 23rd January we have a demonstration from Michele Weaver, a talented sugar crafter, with a bit of Valentine theme in readiness for a Valentine's cake. You are welcome to join us at Bleadon Coronation Halls at 7:30pm. £5.00 for the evening.

Kerry of Angel's Kitchen and Dusi of DusiCake, both award winning sugar artists, will be joining us this Thursday, 28th November at 7:30 pm. They will be bringing their exhibit from the recent Cake International show and telling us how they created it. Their model was part of a collaborative exhibit by various cake artists to produce a macabre toy emporium. We are looking forward to finding out all about this magnificent model.

She also gave us an interesting insight into how her collaboration Best in Show (Cake International) winning exhibit was conceived. The wonderfully talented Kerry Hemm and Dusica will be demonstrating on a Spooky Halloween theme on Thursday 24th October at Bleadon Coronation Halls at 7:30 pm. The talented sugar artists won BEST in Show at the 2023 Cake International show with the photo attached. All welcome, £5 for first time visitors or £10 for the evening. We welcome new members for the second half of the year at £25 for the last 5 meetings. A real bargain.

Thank you to Tib from Little Buttercup Cakery lor showing us all how to pipe flowers with buttercream last night. I hadn't done this before personally, my first effort was a lot worse, but with Tib's direction and practice the whole group produced cupcakes decorated like these. Next month we will be introducing different buttercream flowers to practice. Tib used an Italian Meringue Buttercream recipe. We are looking for new members so please pop along on the 27th June to improve your piping skills. Sue, Chairman. Message for further details.

28th November - Dusica from Dusicakes sharing her expert knowledge of sugarcraft.

We are privileged to have 2 of the team involved in winning the coveted title of " Best in Show 2023" at Cake International, which is the for the biggest cake decorating show in the world, for their amazing exhibit. They are coming to our club in October and November.

Thank you to everyone who entered the mask decorating competition last night, they were all amazing. Our judges, Matt Lucas and Noel Fielding had a very difficult job. Welll done to winner Marilyn and runner up Marion.

Mask Decorating Competition Thursday 25th Aprll. First prize £15 M & S voucher, second prize £10 M & S voucher. All entries receive small gift for entering. Get creative, judging not based on ability but on which mask design is liked the best. First time club visitors £5. 6 month membership £25. On the 28th March, Di will be demonstrating how to make a simple rose, which is such a good skill to have as it has to be the most common flower used on cakes. This will be followed by a pastillage mask demonstration by Sue. We will be giving out free mask moulds. Then on April 25th we will be having a decorate your own mask competition for your chance to get creative with whatever design you wish to do. THERE WILL BE A PRIZE OF A £15 MARKS AND SPENCER VOUCHER for the mask the guest 'celebrity' judges like best. You will not be judged on skill level as the judges aren't sugarcrafters!!
