🏆 ASTLE PARK COUNTRY FAIR 2026 🏆
What an incredible weekend!
After months of planning, preparation, loading vans, organising tests and gathering prizes, Astle Park Country Fair has been and gone for another year, and what a weekend it was.
Saturday brought sunshine, warm temperatures and plenty of opportunities for dogs to cool off in the nearby stream between runs. The Challenge test looked deceptively simple, but it certainly asked plenty of questions of both dogs and handlers, producing some fantastic runs and some very close competition.
Sunday threatened rain for most of the day, but apart from a downpour first thing in the morning, we were incredibly lucky and the weather stayed on our side. The competition remained strong throughout the day, with handlers and dogs giving it their all across every event.
This weekend also saw the introduction of cash prizes for the Daily Challenge, and the response was phenomenal. The competition was fierce, the times were incredibly close and it added an extra level of excitement throughout the day. Safe to say the new format was a huge success!
One of my personal highlights was seeing so many Junior Handlers taking part. It was fantastic to see new faces getting involved and enjoying the sport alongside some of our more experienced competitors. The future of our sport is looking very bright indeed.
To my incredible team of volunteers – thank you. You are the people who make these events possible. From setting up and packing away, helping competitors, judging, measuring, answering questions, fetching equipment and keeping everything running smoothly, you are simply amazing. You offer support, encouragement and help to everyone who comes through the scurry field, and I genuinely couldn’t do it without you. You are all my angels.
A huge thank you must also go to our fantastic sponsors for their continued support:
🐾 Gilbertson & Page
🐾 PureFlax
🐾 ACME Whistles
🐾 AK Gundog Accessories
🐾 Leucillin
🐾 Tuffies Dog Beds
🐾 Rural Prize Draws
Your support helps us continue to grow and improve these events for everyone who attends.
Personally, I have had an amazing weekend. It has been wonderful catching up with friends old and new, seeing people I haven’t seen since last season, and watching dogs develop and progress from where they were a year ago. As someone who spends countless hours planning these events, there is nothing better than standing back and watching handlers and dogs enjoying themselves together.
Most importantly, thank you to every single person who entered, spectated, volunteered, supported, cheered, helped and joined us over the weekend.
And of course, thank you to every dog who gave it their all out on the field.
We’ll see you all again at Royal Cheshire Show! 🐾🏆
