Wighton in Photos The page is changing, again! It is going to become more of a pictorial record of our wonderful Scarecrow Village of Wighton.

No adverts for events, just Wighton life as it happens here❤️ Wighton Village is located 2.5 miles inland from Wells-Next-The-Sea, North Norfolk. The festival is held annually over the Saturday, Sunday and Monday of the May Bank Holiday. The main event day is always the Sunday with Vintage Tractors and Children's Competition (2.30 on the Common). Over the 3 days there's a charity café selling tea

s & scrummy cakes in the village hall and on Sunday an outside food facility selling breakfast, bacon baps, pork baps.etc. There are always displays in the church, varying each year. The festival started in the 1980's then stopped and then re-started again 14 years ago in 2000.

Locals and visitors alike only have to make it to the bus stop (by the overgrown pond at Crabbe Road/Wells Road) to catch the hourly daytime bus and, if you have a bus pass, it’s free. You can go anywhere along the coast, all the way to Kings Lynn on the No 36, or, change at Wells onto the Sander’s Coast Hopper to go in Cromer direction. We like catching it to Drove Orchards, where our granddaughter likes to stop for an icecream. There are loads of pubs and restaurants ‘en route’ or you could just take your own picnic.
Edit: There is also the bus stop (looks like a greenhouse) at the junction of the Buddells Lane, Wells Road and the road up to the allotment/Old Station.

Today’s challenge/prompt, day 17, for FMS & FMSPAD on Instagram is ‘A colour I wear’, but a photo of me is not what is wanted here, so this blue sky showing off the village and, especially, All Saints Church, is a colour I love and wear a lot.
