‼️‼️‼️ALL MATCHES POSTPONED THIS WEEK - THURSDAY 8TH JANUARY ‼️‼️‼️

Happy New Year social Netballers 🥳 2026 is already shaping up to be a cracker with an office power cut, a lifeless laptop and an incoming weather warning 🫠

To that end, (and I know you all know I don’t take the decision to postpone fixtures lightly), due to tomorrows horrendous incoming weather and associated warning, I’m calling it. Opening night of the ‘spring’ league is postponed.

All fixtures will be moved to the reserve date of Thursday 2nd April 2026.

I’m desperately trying to get an email to team contacts but… lifeless laptop 🤷🏼‍♀️ so please do spread the word.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused and thank you in anticipation of your understanding.

So many close divisions! A testament to how our players continue to develop and grow in their netball 🙌

🌿🌿🌿2026 SPRING SOCIAL NETBALL LEAGUE 🌿🌿🌿

Registration for the 2026 Spring Social Netball League is now open to new teams. Due to the reconstruction of SASP's website , registration looks different.

To express interest in entering a team please follow the instructions below. There are very few spaces remaining due to existing teams having had early booking privileges. Therefore, please do not pay any money to SASP until I have confirmed your place in the league early next week. Places will be offered on a first come first served basis from 7pm on Thursday 27th November 2025.

How can I enter a team?

The Spring League will welcome 40 teams. For this league only, to enter a team please email me (Abbie Barker) at [email protected] and include the following information which will be stored in line with SASP’s Data Protection Policy…

1. Team name (please also include team name in email title)
2. Team contact 1 - name, email & mob no
3. Team contact 2 – name, email & mob no
4. A list of players and their most recent playing level e.g. Abbie Barker, Somerset Premier Division or Polly Land, social league blue division
5. Any other relevant information e.g. Abbie Barker wears a hearing aid or Polly Land has a medical piercing

🎇🧨🎇 CHANGE OF VENUE - 6TH NOVEMBER 🎇🧨🎇

Don't forget. Tomorrow's fixtures will be played at Taunton Vale Sports Club (Gipsy Lane, Taunton, TA2 6LL) whilst Taunton School host their annual fireworks display.

PLEASE NOTE that car parking at Taunton Vale is set at a flat rate of £2 and non-payment WILL result in a fine. You can pay to park via the Ringo app (location no 48079), by phone (details at the pay station on site) or by cash at the machine. I would STRONGLY advise players to download the app and even pay for parking before arrival to avoid long queues at the machine and the risk of the machine not working (as it sometimes doesn’t).

If you do not wish to pay for parking, please consider car sharing, cycling, walking, catching the bus or getting a lift. I STRONGLY recommend not parking on the surrounding roads as owners have been known to have their vehicles damaged and it makes getting in and out of Taunton Vale incredibly difficult.

❗️❗️❗️x1 TEAM SPACE AVAILABLE IN THE AUTUMN SOCIAL NETBALL LEAGUE ❗️❗️❗️

This NEVER happens! One space has become available in our In It Together Social Netball League.

Fixtures are played on a Thursday evening, outdoors at Taunton School at 6.30, 7.30 or 8.30pm. There is a one off registration fee of £40 and a match fee of £28 per 40 minute game (payable by bacs).

Fixtures start on Thursday 11th September.

🍂🍂🍂 IT'S THAT TIME AGAIN - THE IIT AUTUMN SOCIAL NETBALL LEAGUE IS NOW OPEN 🍂🍂🍂

The ɪɴ ɪᴛ ᴛᴏɢᴇᴛʜᴇʀ ꜱᴏᴄɪᴀʟ ɴᴇᴛʙᴀʟʟ ʟᴇᴀɢᴜᴇ is an opportunity for women and girls in Somerset to be active and sociable together, in an enjoyable, supportive and encouraging environment.

This competitive but friendly, pressure-free league is open to all levels of fitness, abilities and experience, working with In It Together, to get women moving across the county.

To enter your team to the league, please pay the £40 entry fee and submit an online registration form by 7pm on Wednesday 30th July. Spaces are limited to 40 teams & teams who have just participated in the Summer League have had early access, so be fast - there are only a few spaces left!

‼️‼️‼️ALL MATCHES POTPONED THIS WEEK - THURSDAY 19TH JUNE ‼️‼️‼️

Due to a family illness, I am unable to facilitate the league this Thursday evening. As a result, all fixtures due to take place on Thursday 19th June will now be moved to the reserve date of Thursday 17th July in the same time slot.

Ordinarily fixtures would have gone ahead in my absence, however a shortage of umpires due to the County Netball AGM the same evening, means that I cannot source umpires for every game without me being there to help.

Please know how sorry I am for any inconvenience caused and thank you in anticipation of your understanding.

🙏🙏🙏 A PLEA FROM THE UMPIRES 🙏🙏🙏

Our incredibly valued umpires have asked for players and spectators to please stop walking behind the goal line during open play. It sounds as if there have been a couple of near collisions over the past few weeks and none of us want to get injured (full stop) but certainly not before we even step foot on the court.

Please be sure to spread the word and to be more cautious going forward. Teams wanting to make their way to their playing area can do so at an interval.
