❤️ Volunteer Week Appreciation – Thank You, YFW Bloodbikes Volunteers ❤️

As Volunteer Week gives us the opportunity to celebrate those who give their time so generously, we want to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you to every single volunteer at YFW Bloodbikes.

Our service exists because of you.

Behind every urgent delivery, every late-night call, every mile travelled in difficult weather, and every precious item safely transported to where it is needed most, there is a volunteer making it happen. Whether you ride, coordinate, dispatch, fundraise, support events, maintain vehicles, manage administration, or work behind the scenes in countless other ways, you are the foundation of everything we do.

Volunteering is about more than giving time. It is about kindness, dedication, compassion, and a willingness to help others without expecting anything in return. Our volunteers embody these values every day. You willingly give up evenings, weekends, holidays, and family time to support healthcare services and patients across our communities. Your commitment helps ensure that vital blood, samples, medication, donor breast milk, and other urgent medical items reach those who need them, when they need them most.

Many people will never meet the volunteer who made a difference to their care, but the impact of your efforts is felt every day. Every journey completed, every call answered, and every shift covered contributes to a service that healthcare professionals rely upon and communities benefit from. The work you do saves valuable NHS resources and helps support patient care in ways that cannot always be measured.

What makes YFW Bloodbikes truly special is not just the service we provide, but the people who provide it. The camaraderie, teamwork, professionalism, and shared sense of purpose shown by our volunteers are something to be incredibly proud of. You support one another, encourage one another, and work together to ensure that no matter the challenge, the job gets done.

During Volunteer Week, we celebrate your dedication, but our gratitude extends far beyond these few days. We are thankful every day for the commitment, passion, and generosity you bring to YFW Bloodbikes. Without you, there would be no service.

To every volunteer past and present, thank you for your time, your energy, your skills, your sacrifice, and your unwavering commitment to helping others.

You are the heart of YFW Bloodbikes, and we are incredibly proud and privileged to have you as part of our team.

đź’™ Happy Volunteer Week, and thank you for everything you do. đź’™

Every 3 weeks, volunteers from South West Blood Bikes meet Mike from Blood Bikes NICU Support to deliver previous stock donor breast milk (DBM) to hospitals across Devon and into Cornwall.

Today there was only DBM to deliver into Exeter, which east volunteer rider & team leader collected from Mike at Tiverton Services at 9am.

Rob then delivered the DBM into the neonatal unit in Exeter before heading off to a fundraising event.
