An outstanding week in North Wales delivering a Joint Service MBF course with East Midlands UOTC. Set against some incredible terrain, the course challenged everyone both physically and mentally, and the group rose to it at every opportunity.
It’s been a pleasure working with such a motivated, resilient, and professional cohort. Their attitude, teamwork, and determination have been evident throughout, and they should be proud of what they’ve achieved over the week.
A fantastic group with huge potential—undoubtedly a strong future ahead of them in the Army.

What’s everyone up to this Bank Holiday?

I’ll be heading up to North Wales for the week to run a Joint Service Mountain Bike Foundation course 🚵‍♂️

Adventurous Training isn’t just about getting out of camp—it’s a key part of developing soldiers. It builds leadership, resilience, and the ability to make decisions under pressure, all in challenging and unfamiliar environments. It also strengthens teamwork and trust, which are essential on operations.

Using mountain biking as the vehicle, we’ll be focusing on skill development, confidence, and leadership—pushing people out of their comfort zones while keeping it enjoyable and rewarding.
