Ware's The Music Farewell

Ware's the Music (WTM) was the collective idea of local musicians and enthusiasts for a live local music festival that drew on the community spirit of Ware Town and villages.

Giving their time for free, the WTM Committee launched the first WTM event in May 2017. This first WTM proved to be very popular and well attended, demonstrating the very best of Ware and its citizens - it even made the national newspapers.

WTM continued to grow year on year, involving more and more musicians, hospitality and community venues.

Unfortunately the scheduled 2020 Ware's the Music fell victim to the restrictions of the pandemic and, like many events across the country, was regrettably postponed.

The situation was no better in 2021 as the country faced a further year of lockdown restrictions.

Arguments were made for holding a compromised event later in the year but the WTM Committee wished to uphold the quality and integrity of the WTM brand through maintained community spirit and engagement.

Despite this, the Pubwatch venues decided not to support any future events organised by the Ware's the Music Committee. Therefore, it is with heartfelt regret that we are forced to announce the end of the Ware's the Music Festival.

Going forward, to ensure ‘Live Music Is Out There’, Ware's the Music plan to run online streamed music events and support community music projects with local groups in the town.

We will announce any plans as they develop further.

We would like to thank the many venues, the musicians and the people of Ware for their support.

It is with sadness that we have to announce that Ware's The Music will be postponed until the autumn.

With the recent guidance from the government it was inevitable that this was going to effect our fabulous, cross-town festival-in-day.

Watch out for details of LIVE online performances from some of the the musicians who had agreed to support Ware's the Music. We'll be promoting them via these pages.

We hope to see you all online soon and will share details of the new date once it has been agreed with the venues.

Stay safe everyone.

Ware's The Music 2020 is pleased to welcome back for the fourth year running Jacoby’s Tavern & Kitchen in Tudor Square, many thanks to Zoe, Kirsty and Team.

This eclectic gastropub in the centre of Ware serves fresh, locally sourced British food, quality wines, traditional cask ales with excellent hospitality, and of course a guarantee of a fantastic musical line up for the day.

THE MIXER in Baldock Street, , have once again joined the venues taking part in this years .

The Mixer is run by Rose Evans and Joab Archer who opened the business in 2016. Together they have built up a strong reputation for presenting exciting & unique party nights and themed restaurant experiences as well as providing cocktails, beers and lagers.

For Ware’s the Music at the Mixer, always expect the unexpected. Joab always finds the most interesting & entertaining performers from the local area to play in this venue. This year they'll be running 2 performances spaces; the main stage being down stairs in the usual spot, and upstairs there will be an acoustic stage.

Thank you Rose and Joab and welcome to Ware's The Music.

We're delighted to announce that the Southern Maltings will be taking part in this year's Ware's the Music 2020.

This will be their fourth anniversary as they opened to the public on the very first of Ware's the music festival back in 2017.

The Southern Maltings is staffed entirely by volunteers and they always put on an amazing show.

Welcome back Southern Maltings.
