What a day! ❤️
Now that the dust has settled, I'd just like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make this year's Wallsend Festival such a success.
These events don't happen by accident. They take months of planning, countless meetings, phone calls, emails and an incredible amount of teamwork. It has been a privilege to work alongside such a dedicated organising team, our volunteers, stage crew, performers, stallholders, sponsors, local charities, vendors, emergency services and everyone working behind the scenes.
A special thank you to Junior Turner, our Stage Director. Although illness meant he couldn't be there on the day, he made sure everything was in place and arranged for Kev and Lisa to step in and oversee the stage. They did a superb job, and thanks to all three of them, the entertainment ran seamlessly from start to finish.
To every act that took to the stage – thank you for entertaining the crowds throughout the day. To every exhibitor, attraction and vendor, thank you for helping create such a fantastic atmosphere.
Most importantly, thank you to the people of Wallsend. Seeing families, friends and neighbours coming together to enjoy the festival is exactly why we do it. Your support is what makes Wallsend Festival so special and why it continues to thrive after 25 years.
I'm incredibly proud to have been part of organising this year's festival and look forward to helping make next year's event even bigger and better.
