What’s on at BunkFest 2026?

A special King’s Award celebration!

We all know about the great music, food from all over the world, the best British beer, Morris dancing, magical musical river cruises, and heritage trains from Cholsey & Wallingford Railway, not to mention more fringe venues and acts than you can shake a stick at, and this year is an extra a special celebration for all the amazing volunteers who have been recognised for their incredible efforts to make BunkFest truly unique! The Kings Award for Voluntary Service will be presented by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Oxfordshire!

Not only that, there’s also too much to fit in one post for kids, for teenagers, and grown-ups. With apologies to those awesome bands, acts, traders, organisations, venues, and events not mentioned here; full details are in the very large and great value programme, which will be available in August throughout town; more details to follow.

Hundreds of slots in dozens of funky Fringe venues need filling with talent! Applications to play are welcome from bands and artists of all genres from Art Punk to Blues and from Yodelling to Zydeco* and everything in between.

We can’t wait to hear from all you awesome artists, young, old, established, and brand-spanking new!

BunkFest is absolutely over the moon to announce we have been awarded The King’s Award for Voluntary Service for 2025!

KAVS is the highest national honour given to volunteer groups in the UK, known as the MBE for volunteer groups it recognises the incredible contribution volunteers make to the community.

This award truly belongs to you. Whether you’ve helped with the build, stewarding, stage management, bar shifts, dance programming, artist liaison, litter picking, and so many other vital roles, your time, energy, and passion alone make BunkFest possible.

The directors of BunkFest say "We are delighted to receive this award, which we dedicate to the energy, hard work and commitment of the countless number of volunteers who over the years have helped us put on this amazing community festival”
