The Quilt is coming to Wakefield!

From 4–7 June, the entire AIDS Quilt UK will be on display at Wakefield Exchange, the first time it has been shown outside London in full.

Panels will also be on view at venues across the city and district - full list below.

All free, no booking needed.

Today is Dinosaur day🦕, but sadly Sunday was our last day of Dino Week 😭 Our dinos are now having a well deserved rest, but one thing we are sure of, is we had an absolute roarrrr!

It's been brilliant to see so many happy smiling faces of all ages (apart from some of our more fierce and ancient dinos 🦖)

There's been activities galore, VR adventures, jeep safaris, dino discos, and even appearances from our fabulous W-Rex!

We hope you've had a great half-term and look forward to seeing you at another one of our events soon.

🌹 A Powerfully Moving Piece of History in Wakefield This June 🧵✨

From 4th to 7th June WX Wakefield is hosting the historic AIDS Memorial Quilt.

All 43 blocks will be displayed at and selected individual panels in various locations around the city. Also on display at WX will be the recently rediscovered documentary film There Is A Light That Never Goes Out, about the 1994 Hyde Park display of the Quilt.

📢Just a note to say...
..Due to an exhibition set up, our usual Wellbeing Wednesday activities including chair exercise, WX Pop Choir and dance won't be on this week (Wednesday 3 June). However, Health Checks will still be taking place in Unit 1.

We'll have an Age UK Session to view the UK Aids Memorial quilt on Thursday 4 June 10am - 12pm during a quieter time where you can meet volunteers from the partnership who share and listen to stories relating to the project.
