16 contenders. One arena. One champion.

This is Verwood Gladiators.

Local businesses, organisations, clubs and community groups can each put forward a contender to represent them in a head-to-head gladiator duel on a giant inflatable arena.

Armed with padded pugil sticks and plenty of determination, contenders will battle it out in front of a live crowd until only one remains standing and claims the title of Verwood Gladiator Champion.

The event will raise money for local initiatives and community projects while giving local businesses and organisations a unique opportunity to promote themselves and get behind a great cause.

Rules of the Arena.

16 Gladiators can enter. Only 1 can be crowned champion.

Each duel is a test of balance, skill, and strategy as competitors battle to knock their opponent from the podium.

Every match consists of up to 3 rounds, with each round lasting 1 minute. The Gladiator who wins the most rounds advances to the next stage of the tournament. Win your match and move on. Lose, and your championship journey ends right there.

Starting with the Round of 16, the competition progresses through the Quarter Finals and Semi Finals before culminating in the Grand Final, where the Verwood Gladiators Champion will be crowned! 🏆

⚔️ What is the Verwood Gladiator Duel?

The Verwood Gladiator Duel is a fun day raiser competition where local contestants battle it out in a gladiator-style joust tournament to be crowned the Verwood Gladiator Champion 2026.

All proceeds help fund charitable projects within Verwood.

📅 When is the event?

We are hoping to hold the event in November 2026.

Once we have enough gladiator contestants signed up, we will confirm and book the official event date.

📍 Where is the event?

The event will most likely be held at Verwood Memorial Hall.

Final venue confirmation will be announced once the date is secured.

💷 How much does it cost to sign up as a Gladiator Contestant?

The entry fee is £100 per contestant.

🎁 What do I get for my £100 entry fee?

Your £100 entry fee is donated directly to charitable projects within Verwood.

As a competitor, you will receive:

✅ An official Gladiator Competitor T-Shirt to wear on the night

✅ Your name printed on the shirt

✅ Your sponsor's business name and logo printed on the shirt

✅ T-shirts supplied by Express Print & Design Verwood

✅ Promotion for you and your sponsor across our social media and event marketing

✅ Two FREE ringside tickets for your favourite supporters, whether they're family, friends or work colleagues

✅ Your sponsor's logo displayed on the big screen during the event

🤝 Can I enter without a sponsor?

Yes.

However, we encourage competitors to find a local business sponsor as it helps support the event and promotes local businesses.

🚗 Is there parking?

There is no dedicated event parking available.

We recommend using Verwood public car parks or walking to the venue where possible.

🍔 Is food and drink included?

No.

Your ticket price covers entry only.

Food and drinks will be available to purchase separately from vendors on site.
