Tomorrow we have an ABSOLUTE BELTER of a lineup to see off the festivities and we can’t wait to welcome YOU.

From studying buisness and further maths, Tom’s career path too a drastic change when he fell in love with cooking whilst working part time in a local pub, working his way up and studying his craft in different kitchens, from large busy Gastropubs to small boutiques hotels, he went on to train and hone his skills under the Michelin starred Cornish chef, Chris Eden.

Having always had a love of the relaxed community feel of a gastropub where everyone can get together and have a great time, he took on his own; The Rising Sun, 11 years ago.

With some prestigious awards under his belt including Cornwall, South West and Visit England Tourism Awards, Trenchman’s Awards, Taste of the West Best Dining Pub and a Great British Pub Award, not to mention inclusion in the Top 100 Gastropubs list, it’s clear that the rising sun and Tom garnered a loyal foodie following and industry acclaim.

Tim and partner Katie have just said farewell to their time as custodians of The Rising Sun following a summer or celebratory events. They have an Irish sports bar in Truro, Fitzpatrick’s, named after Tom’s late mum and are looking forward to holding more events there, enjoying a little more family time and exciting new ventures!
