The Great Big Paddle Parade

WE DID IT!!

Well... We didn't smash the world record but, with 654 paddlers gliding the coastline of the English Riviera, celebrating the most beautiful qualities of our sport and ocean environment, PLUS the £10'395.00 raised to support 4 incredible local charities, the event can be deemed no less than an incredible success!

We'll be back next year with a two day festival of the sea which will include The Great Big Paddle Parade, but also the 2nd year of the national race series, SUPERCHAMPS! We'll host an epic weekend of camping , incredible food, amazing live music and of course, a stunning rosta of water sports activities, tours and equipment demonstrations. Quality will be our focus and we cant with to share it all with you!

As for this years parade, I'd like to share my enormous gratitude to you, our paddling paraders! You trusted me with your weekend and leant this event the most beautiful, warm and inspiring levels of energy. Each of you is an absolute asset to our sports community and you all made me so, so proud! Thank you! I also have a very special and deep thanks to my incredible team of volunteers at Club Soak. Your passion for where we live and play rubbed off on every paddler who came from every county in the country and you made this event so fricken fun!!

A massive thanks to Jon, Ollie & Henry on Safety boat and ski... You literally saved the day of a few paddlers in an amazing number of complexed issues. Your care, communication and total professionalism made the whole thing so good for us all! It wouldn't have been the same without you.

Massive thanks to our lead sponsor, Paddle UK. Having the support of SUP's National Governing Body is such an honour and a credit to our outstanding safety record and sense of inclusivity. It wouldn't have been the same without them and we're excited for what next. Also, a HUGE thanks to Mitch Tonks over at Rockfish whose sponsorship enabled so much additional support to help make this event truly best in class!

We also owe huge thanks to RNLI Torbay for their incredible support and trust in our safety messaging. And to Brendon Prince, whoo's steady support and wisdom leant both confidence and expertise throughout the organisation of key components of this event.

Goodrington: 8.30am
Broadsands: 9am

⏱️ Check in closing times

Goodrington: 10.30am

⏱️ Approx time on the water:
Abbey Sands: 5.5 hours
Goodrington: 3.5 hours

‼️ Abbey Sands recommended carpark, no restrictions - Sheddon Hill, TQ2 5TY

‼️ Goodrington carpark TQ4 6LN. Barrier will be opened at 8am and locked for the duration of our time on the water. It will then be opened when we get off the water and locked two hours after the last person leaves the water at Goodrington.

‼️ Broadsands Carpark: TQ4 6HXThere is an over head height barrier restricting vehicles over 2 meters at Broadsands. Cars can enter from 8am but we will open that barrier at 10.30am.

Please keep posted for further updates. I’m deeply sorry for all those who will not be able to change their plans to Sunday… I wish this wasn’t happening to us all right now.

Guys... That Soak Social was so fun!! Even though the waves took the Dj Out! 🏄🏽‍♂️🥳

I cant even begin to express the scale of my gratitude for all the sense of fun you've taken the event updates. You are all the reason why I do this so thanks for the reminder of just how totally amazing you all are!

Please find the updated Welcome Letter. This sheet should just offer you answers to any last burning questions you may have. I had printed these all off with the Plan B timings to hand too you on arrival, but I don't have enough paper to print them all again 😅

🚨🥳🌊🌴☀️ For all those who can’t make Sunday but have travelled down from every county in the country, we’ll still host the Parade Social on Saturday at 2pm. For those that can stay but need to get of right away on Sunday, this should be good news for you all…

Soak Lifestyle, Abbey Sands Beach, Torquay TQ2 5DG.

We’ll be all the sunshine energy you need so come for fun!! There is talking of getting in the sea for swims and a little SUP fun for those who fancy it. A small consolation for a very disappointing postponement.

Thanks for all your care and encouragement, it’s been a wild day!

Also, massive thanks to Torbay RNLI, Paignton Yacht Club, Brendon Prince, Jon and Ollie on Safety boat cover and my entire volunteer team who have been totally instrumental in this event’s ability to go on this Sunday. Without their flexibility, non of this would be possible and that’s a fact!
