⛏️A little sneak peek from Song of the Bal Maiden 🌊

Written by .badham and , this brand-new song has been created especially for the Morvala Schools Project.

Over recent weeks, Charlotte has been visiting Millbrook, Antony, Fourlanesend & Carbeile Primary Schools, delivering workshops and preparing 77 children from across the Rame Peninsula for their exciting festival performance.

Featuring a special section in Kernewek (the Cornish language), Song of the Bal Maiden celebrates Cornwall’s stories, heritage and landscape through the voices of the next generation.

On Friday 26 June at 11:45am, the Rame Schools Choir will open the Main Stage at Morvala Festival with the premiere performance of the song.

And trust us when we say they sound absolutely stonking💛

🎞️ MORVALA PICTURE HOUSE 🎞️

Following our first Morvala × Film Kernow film competition, we’re proud to present nine selected South West films as part of the inaugural Morvala Picture House programme.

We received submissions from across the region spanning documentary, narrative film, experimental work and music video and were blown away by the strength of filmmaking talent emerging from the South West.

While the competition was open to all South West filmmakers, the final selections are predominantly Cornwall-made works, reflecting Morvala’s wider celebration of Cornish arts, culture and storytelling.
