For anyone still on this page, I hope to plan another event in the future. This whole idea was to raise funds and awareness of the debilitating disease of the fat called Lipoedema. To date we have managed to raise £20K - Which is enough to cover 3 operations in Germany, 1st operation was in September - Quite a painful and traumatic experience with 8 litres of diseased fat removed from my upper legs. Next 2 surgeries are now paid for and will be in May and November this year. Thank you for everyones support and to the Sponsors that supported the event.

With all the fundraising done over the last 2 years, I am finally due to have my 1st surgery next week. Thank you to those that have helped and supported me along the way. Next surgery is booked for December x

It's with sad news that on Thursday one of our Semi finalist judges Samantha Roberton passed away. I believe she was waiting on a liver transplant but were other complications. I would like to take this opportunity to thank her dearly and send condolances to her family at this sad time

My journey with lipoedema

I have been diagnosed with lipoedema. This is a disease of the fat and affects mainly the legs and arms. It is a painful and debilitating disease and often wrongly diagnosed. Due to the treatment required (liposuction) it is not covered by the NHS or health insurance. Most women will require a minimum of 2-3 surgeries (some much more), the average cost in the UK is from £7500 - £12000 per surgery. It also needs to be treated by a lipoedema specialist. Due to this I am looking to travel abroad to have more affordable surgeries. I am still looking to raise £20.000 to cover current expenses. I am also hoping to bring awareness to women suffering and wrongly diagnosed. This is not a cosmetic surgery it is a necessity before it becomes debilitating and I become immobile. Please assist me on my journey!
