Collapsed Lung was originally formed as a bedroom studio collaboration between Anthony Chapman and Steve Harcourt. The pair had met at Harlow music venue The Square, and despite coming from contrasting musical backgrounds (Harcourt had previously played guitar in metal bandBomberz, whereas Chapman had previously played bass in pseudo-C86 outfit Pregnant Neck) found they had a shared love of funkand the Amiga tracker software Med/Octamed. Eventually, the duo decided to perform a live show, using an Amiga computer on stage as well as live guitar from Harcourt.

In 1996, they released their second album Cooler which featured double A-side"London Tonight" / "Eat My Goal" was released which reached number 31 on the UK Singles Chart. "Eat My Goal" was used as the soundtrack to Coca-Cola's "Eat Football, Sleep Football, Drink Coca-Cola" advertising campaign that tied in with the Euro 96football championships in England.
Despite their success, Collapsed Lung broke up in 1997.

But now they’re back!!!! (Despite having already released 2 albums since 2018, Collapsed Lung TV and Zero Hours followed by numerous tours) they’ve come out of retirement just for We Want Lesstival! Get your appetite for the upcoming world cup wet and eat an hors d'oeuvre of goal by the river.

Are you considering coming to Lesstival but worried about the weather? Well, the extended forecast is looking good and we’re finally shaking off this cold spell! But we know UK weather is unpredictable, but don’t worry - we’ve got you covered! Our main stage is completely indoors, with a bar that will be open in the evening. The site has a wonderful pub that will be serving food and drinks (they even do a Sunday roast, but you’ll need to book early!) and best of all, no queuing for portaloos as all the toilets are normal and flushing and either in cabins or inside the pub. And when the sun is out, and it looks like it will be, the grounds are glorious and beautiful with green fields and river to gaze at while you sip your ice cold pint.

Introducing…Kasenebo!

They may be on the younger end of the scale of the weekend’s performers but they seemed to have captured a lovely slice of late 90s mid west emo/US lo-fi, and when speaking to the front man about all the great bands and music they remind me of, he’d never heard of any of it which means they’ve crafted something nostalgic and fresh like, releasing a new flavour of monster munch and it being delicious. Very well put together tunes with some very satisfying chords and melodies.
