Queen Victoria Cyclo Cross Queen Victoria Cyclo-X Blists Hill Victorian Town 28/6 http://www.newportshropshirecc.org.uk/queenvi Cyclo-Cross, but not as you know it!

A truly unique event based at the Blists Hill Victorian Town in Shropshire's beautiful Ironbridge Gorge. We expect the event to become one of the "must ride" races on the 'Cross calendar. The racing will take place in the evening and will enable specators and riders alike to experience this lovely venue. Please support the museum by taking advantage of the period drinking and eating opportunities

on the site. There will be a small entry charge for adult spectators which will go towards the organisation of the event and the Museum Trust. Child specators will be given free entry. Promoter: Nick Jeggo Big idea by Jim Morrison!

We were so sorry to hear of the passing of Larry Hickmott. Larry was a loyal friend supporter of both the Queen Victoria Cyclocross and the Newport Nocturne.

For the last few decades Larry worked tirelessly to provide the "go to" cycling news and results service for the UK, through his website VeloUK.

Larry has left a huge hole. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.

Can you help with Newport CC's event at Lilleshall Hall please?

It’s that time of year again where we are in full swing organising our Newport Cyclo-Cross race.

It was a great event last year and we hope to make this year’s even better. As with all good events, we need volunteers and marshals to make this happen.
It would be amazing if you are able to help out again this year.

If you can, let me know if you are able to help for either a AM, PM or for the whole day.

You can reply on this thread, or email me [email protected]

Thanks everyone

Free Bike Smartwater Security Marking this Saturday!

This Saturday West Mercia Police will be at Burton Borough School in Newport to provide free bike security marking. The kits used will also enable those attending to mark other items at home.

The security marking will take place alongside Newport Cycling Club's 'Bike Club' youth cycle coaching between 10:00 and 12:00 ((youth cycle coaching 09:15 onwards).

Regarding Smartwater - Each pack is uniquely coded and registered to you. It is a solution that dries clear but is visible under UV light. The Police only need a small trace of SmartWater to trace an item back to its rightful owner. West Mercia Police have funded the kits, so there will be no charge.

This is a one off event, so to take advantage you'll need to be down at Burton Borough School (rear of Music Block) this Saturday.

Telford and Wrekin Council have launched a consultation about walking, cycling and running in the borough.

This is an opportunity to have your say.

We want your views about walking🚶🏼‍♂️ 🚶‍♀️ , running 🏃‍♀️ 🏃🏼‍♂️ and cycling 🚲 in Telford and Wrekin.
We’ve launched a consultation here 👉 http://orlo.uk/33TDM to ask questions like:

• where and how often people walk, run, jog or cycle,
• how we can make it safer,
• what would encourage you to do it more
• and where you think we should invest

Your answers will shape our new strategy that will help us bid for more money to invest in sustainable travel and other services like health and wellbeing and road safety education.

Please fill in the survey by Friday 28 May
