The Taunton Flower Show 2026 is excited to launch our Design a Badge Competition

We’re inviting children to design a special badge that will be given by every entrant in the Children’s Competition at this year’s show 🌟

It’s a fantastic chance to get creative, be part of show history, and proudly see your design celebrated at one of the UK’s oldest flower shows.

We’re delighted to welcome back Chris Hull to the Taunton Flower Show for 2026.

An award-winning landscape designer and BBC Garden Rescue presenter, Chris returns following his recent RHS Chelsea Flower Show Gold and brings with him expert insight and practical advice for gardeners of all levels.

He will be appearing on both days of the show, taking part in Gardeners’ Question Time and delivering a talk on how to transform your outdoor space. He will also be doing a Design Doctor clinic on Saturday and we encourage visitors to bring along measurements and reference photos of any problem areas in their gardens they’d like advice on.

If you’re looking for inspiration, this is one not to miss!

The Cookery & Preserves class in our competitions tent is packed with delicious opportunities to compete.

Classic bakes and homemade treats, classes include:
• A Victoria Sponge sandwich
• Lemon drizzle cake
• Cheese scones
• Chocolate chip cookies
• Homemade fudge
• Vegetarian quiche
• Vegan cake of your choice

Could you take on the Ready Steady Garden challenge?

We’re looking for teams to enter Ready Steady Garden 2026, a hands-on competition at the Taunton Flower Show!

Your task will be to design and build a tractor tyre planter in 45 minutes using plants provided from Monkton Elm Garden Centre.

Friday 7 August - adult pairs
Saturday 8 August - youth pairs

It’s a fantastic way to be part of the show, whether you’re a keen gardener or just enjoy being creative!

Following the media coverage today, we have been asked whether this year’s Taunton Flower Show will be the last. We want to reassure everyone and say that there are current NO plans for this to be the final show.

Like many community events and charities, we face financial pressures and the coverage in the media recently has highlighted the reality that the show needs strong support from visitors, members, sponsors and volunteers to continue to thrive for future generations.

But the response we are seeing over the last few days has only reminded us just how much the show means to people across Taunton, Somerset and beyond!

For nearly 195 years, the Taunton Flower Show has brought together community, creativity, horticulture and local businesses in the heart of Vivary Park. This year’s show is moving full steam ahead and we’re incredibly excited for what’s to come!

If you would like to support the future of the show, there are lots of ways to help including:

Been quietly brewing something special?🍷

The Wine & Cider division of our competitions tent returns with classes for a wide range of homemade drinks, including table wines, citrus wines, elderflower and mead.

There are also beginner classes for red and white wines, making this an ideal first competition if you’ve recently started brewing at home.
