PROM STATEMENT
We have been holding proms at Oake Manor for over 25 years.
We have never had a single safeguarding issue at any prom. Our experienced team go to great lengths in providing a safe yet memorable experience not only for all the students but also to all their family and friends. We totally understand that some families spend a lot of money on transport and outfits and want to share the prom arrival with their children. At Oake Manor, we have always gone the extra mile in providing this and a lot is at our own expense.
We provide marshalls for parking visitors cars away from the students arriving, we even close part of the Golf Course so they can walk safely down the drive. We supervise all the arrivals so that each individual has their moment on the red carpet and have their picture taken by us which is then shared to the school.
We employ SIA qualified Security who, have worked for us for every prom over the years to provide any assistance if we need them and are primarily there to ensure the safety of everyone attending.
Once all the students have arrived the Clubhouse is then out of bounds to everyone not connected with the Prom this includes all Parents, Friends and even Golfers. We have never ever sold the Venue as an exclusive venue as we have over 850 Members, but we do put in extensive measures in place to ensure that everyone is kept safe. We go to great length risk assessing everything and also ensuring that every part of the menu has the correct allergen information.
We are by far the most popular prom venue in the area and this year we are holding 9 Proms. This is not by accident but down to the sheer hard work and skill of the whole Team at Oake Manor.
We were approached by one School last year to stop students mingling with their parents and friends, and also to stop parents, friends and Golfers accessing the clubhouse and toilets during the arrival. Our response to this was that it would be impossible and also not in the spirit of allowing family to also enjoy the arrivals, so we would not be doing so. We then had a phone call in January followed by an email in February that this School were cancelling their booking for this year on the grounds of Safeguarding.
Rest assured our team are looking forward to safely hosting all your proms this year.
