Can You Spare Just One Hour for Bunbury Village Day?

Bunbury Village Day is organised entirely by volunteers, and we're looking for a few extra helping hands over the event weekend (12 – 14 June).

Tasks include:
πŸŽͺ Help put up gazebos and marquees on Friday
πŸ–πŸ» Lend a hand with organisation on Saturday
🧹 Join the tidy-up team on Sunday
..even just one hour of your time can make a real difference.

Wild Bunbury is all about celebrating community as well as wildlife and countryside, and events like this simply couldn't happen without local people getting involved.

If you'd like to find out more and / or already know when you’d like to volunteer, please message our Volunteer Coordinators at [email protected]

Thank you for helping make Bunbury Village Day possible! πŸ’š

A big Bunbury Village Day shout out to Henry, Pat, Stephen and the tremendous team at The Nags head Bunbury for generously hosting the Bunbury Village Day planning meetings throughout the year (complete the hot snacks!), not to mention once again very generously sponsoring the BVD Community Bar and arranging the use of a β€œmega-fridge”!

Many thanks also to our beer sponsor, Coach House Brewing Company, the oldest cask ale producer in Cheshire, who this year celebrate their 35th anniversary.

Coach House will be supplying Cheshire Gold, a golden coloured beer with a fresh citrus hop aroma, creating a pine lemon crisp finish, as well as Postlethwaites, a pale amber ale, dry hopped in the traditional manner which gives the beer a fine hop aroma.

πŸŒΏπŸ’š It’s Great Big Green Week! πŸ’šπŸŒΏ

This week, communities across the UK are celebrating the people, places and projects helping to make our world a little greener.

That sounds right up our street! After all, our 2026 theme is Wild Bunbury – celebrating the wildlife, countryside and community of Cheshire. πŸπŸ¦‹πŸŒΌ

Whether you’re planting wildflowers, creating a wildlife-friendly garden, reusing and recycling, or simply taking a moment to enjoy nature, every small action helps.

So why not get involved and add a little extra green to your week?

We hope that you will have noticed the banners, pennants, posters and signs that have been liberally sprinkled in and around the village to advertise Bunbury Village Day.

This weekend will be putting up bunting near the entrance to the Playing Fields at the junction of Hurst Close.

But the icing on the cake in the run up to the big day would be ....
........... yes, you guessed it....... MORE BUNTING!

The BVD team would be very grateful if you could dig out any bunting you have, of whatever design, and pop it on your fences and garden hedges to help brighten up the village!

Today is World Environment Day, a chance to celebrate the amazing natural world around us and reflect on the small actions that can make a big difference.

From planting wildflowers and creating wildlife-friendly gardens to supporting local nature and reducing waste, every positive step helps our environment thrive.

Our Wild Bunbury theme is all about celebrating the wildlife, countryside and community of Cheshire, so World Environment Day feels like the perfect opportunity to appreciate the green spaces, plants, animals and people that make our corner of the world so special. πŸ’š
