Well done to Angus for winning overall 1st place for the 5km Race and a big thank you the Tarbert Harbour Authority for their support of the event 👏🥰 We cant wait till next years event 🥳

Just a reminder the registration for all races opens at 9:30am (including the adults 5km) at the Astro.
Kids races will begin at 10am at astro
Adults race will begin at 12pm at Garval car park

We are nearly there 🤩 and we CAN’T WAIT!! There has been a team of busy bees setting everything up today and the kids at Tarbert After School Club have been busy making signs to cheer you all on 👌😍🥳

✅That is the race route set and ready for you all 🥳

✅All our marshals are primed and ready to help 🥳

✅And the Sun is going to be shining ☀️

‼️ it’s going to be hot be sensible and stay hydrated

‼️The road will be open when you are running the 5km, be mindful and stay safe

Race day is nearly here 🥳

We can’t wait to welcome you on what’s set to be a glorious day ☀️ We know you have all received sign up emails but we’ve popped a reminder of the important information below ⬇️

REGISTRATION:

Head to the Astro pitches at the play park from 9am Saturday morning. You can pick up your number and some safety pins 😊 A reminder this race is NOT officially timed, so if you want to know your time make sure your watch is charged 🔌 😊

Children’s Races:
These take place at the Astro pitches at the play park. Please come and cheer our wee Dookers along.

These will start at 9.30am (ish) and will likely be finshed by 11am.

5KM Dookers Dash
The main event!! This race will start at 12 noon.

Make your way to garval road end (past the marina and fire station and keep walking to the end of the road)

This race will finsh at the marquee on the walkway. Showers and toilet facilities are available.

SAFETY
The road will remain open, please be sensible and safe when moving along the route
It’s going to be hot and sunny 😎 please make sure you stay hydrated and apply your sun cream 💦
Our lovely marshals will be all along the route to keep you right and cheer you along 🥳

PRIZE GIVING
Our prize giving, opening of the MUGA and lots more fun will take place up at the bowling club from 2pm. Please come and join us to keep the celebrations going!

Most importantly of all…..have lots of fun and enjoy your day!! 🤩

5KM GENERAL INFORMATION

THE COURSE

The 5km will start at Garval Point and join the harbour walkway at the harbour amenities area. You will then loop round past the Victoria Hotel before joining the walkway again and going down past the Fish Quay, onto the 'Pier Road' taking in beautiful scenery up Loch Fyne and over to Portavadie. You will turn at the concrete and follow the Pier Road back up to the village where you will be cheered onto the finish line at the amenities area.

PARKING

There is NO parking at the START/FINISH line. Race goers are advised to park and walk to the start line. Parking is available at the public car park on Campbeltown Road.

CHANGING FACILITIES

There are showering and toileting facilities available at the Finish Area beside the marquee.. There are no safe facilities to leave clothing and equipment. The organisers accept no responsibility for loss of belongings.

RACE START AND FINISH

The 5K starts at Garval Point and finishes at the Tarbert Harbour Marquee

HEALTH AND SAFETY

The 5k route will be run over public pathways and roads. No roads will be closed during the event and some cars may be on the route. All participants must follow direction from the Marshalls. Participants are advised that headphones are not recommended during the race.

REFRESHMENTS

There will be a water station available at the half way point down 'The Concrete'.
