As last year's calendar was such a success, a 'Taddington & Surrounding Areas Calendar 2027' is to be created, and sold, as part of this year's Wells Week fundraising effort.

Clearing up the church yard, packing away the tea tent for another year, dismantling the petalling boards and clearing away the flower display today feels a bit like taking down Christmas decorations on twelfth night: a time for reflection but joy at great memories of celebrations just finished.

There are so many people within the community who have worked together to deliver a hugely successful week this year, almost too many to thank individually, but what is clear that many villagers contribute in so many ways it truly is a collective, community effort.

That being said, I hope you will join me in thanking the wells week organising team in particular (you know who you are!) led by our good-humoured leader, Dave Graham, with special thanks to Tony for leading the churchyard operations, Ellen, Sue C and Sue W for leading the tea tent and Andrea, Felicity and Ellen for the leading the petalling.

The planning for 2026 wells dressing starts next week…….only joking!

It’s been a busy week in Taddington: dog walks, lanes race, quiz night and the inaugural treasure hunt last night. Wrap up event at the Queens tonight including drawing the raffle prizes.

Next week is going to feel very quiet, but before that we hope many of you can join us to help pack up in the churchyard tomorrow morning from 10am.

Just a reminder that our Treasure Hunt and/or Hot Supper in the tea tent tonight (treasure hunt £2.50pp, food £6pp).
The treasure hunt starts at 6pm and food will be served at around 7.30pm.
Knowing numbers would be a great help to the organisation, so please let us know in advance if you’re coming (Dave Graham 07971 154307).
