Cycloform Optimising cycling performance through physiotherapy led professional bike fitting and musculoskeletal physiotherapy. Onward and upward!

In 2014 founder and clinical director Simon Smith was at his real job, being a back, hip and knee specialist physiotherapist at York District Hospital. He had a reputation for being a bit mental when it comes to his cycling. Like most serious amateur cyclist he had let his cycling bug infect all of his life. This attracted all the struggling cyclists entering the York and Selby Musculoskeletal Ser

vice. One in particular (You know who you are) had numerous bike fits from 'specialist' bike fitters throughout the North of England and was still struggling. However what was evident to Simon was that the majority of the issue at hand was related to the person, not the bike. This sparked an idea and that idea became Cycloform Bike Fitting. Cycloform has always been about giving everyone in the cycling community a high standard of professionalism and quality of service. Treating amateurs like the professionals we emulate. 6 years on, Cycloform or simply the bike fitter in Taddy, has become the go-to place if you’re struggling, or are simply not sure if you’re getting the most out of your bike and maximising your enjoyment (or Watts!) We now attract cyclists from all over the county of Yorkshire. Over this period we, at Cycloform, have not stood still. In addition to the rehabilitation that has always been at the heart of a Cycloform bike fit, we are in a position to augment this with steroid or Ostenil injections. Simon is now also a trained musculoskeletal sonographer, adding this important diagnostic tool to his skill-set. Although 2020/2021 was indeed a challenging few years for all, Cycloform grasped the opportunities this brought. In November 2020, Simon was asked to present a key-note lecture at Therapy Live Sport, an online only conference attended by 1000’s of people working in the sports professions. Sharing his expertise and unique athlete-centred approach to fitting. Cycloform has never been about sitting back on our past achievements, we are always pushing to make things even better.
