The Great Hall, a cultural gem at the heart of Swansea University’s Bay Campus
Opened in 2016, Swansea University’s newest venue The Great Hall is located at the heart of the Bay Campus, close to the beach. It is a beautiful space for the University to host music concerts, conferences, graduations ceremonies and other University events, as well as some private hire events such as weddings, functions and dinners.
The cultural programme at The Great Hall includes literary events by distinguished writers and music performances by world class classical and jazz musicians alongside upcoming artists, including Swansea University students.
The key space within Swansea University’s impressive Great Hall complex is the magnificent 700 seat Sir Stanley Clarke Auditorium which was named after the founder of the lead site developer St Modwen. The impressive wood-panelled concert venue with its distinctive red seating and state-of-the-art technical and acoustic design specification provides a multi-purpose venue for performances, recitals, concerts, conferences and events.
The Great Hall Café Bar is open to the public during the day from Monday to Friday, 11am-3pm. It is a sophisticated yet relaxed venue in which you can enjoy excellent food (light lunches, tapas, afternoon teas...) and a good choice of alcoholic and soft drinks with friends and colleagues while taking in the incredible views across the Bay.
