Morning testing setup at Christ Church Sutton for the first concert in our new series 🎹 with Xavier

Today we experimented with a different concert layout — placing the piano to the side and surrounding the pianist in a circular seating arrangement.

The idea is simple: to create a more relaxed and intimate atmosphere, where audiences can feel closer to the music and more connected with the performer, without the formality of a traditional concert hall setup.

We want this concert to feel welcoming, personal, and immersive — almost like sharing music together in the same living room, while still enjoying the beautiful acoustic and architecture of the church.

Excited to see this vision come to life very soon. More music, more connection, and a new concert experience at Christ Church Sutton 🎶

We’re delighted to officially welcome our next supporter to the Christ Church Sutton Concert Series — Joyous Life Foundation🎉

Founded by Lokyan Joyce Chow, Joyce is not only the leader of our church Children’s Choir, but also an experienced pianist and organist who regularly serves as music principal at Christ Church Sutton, contributing to Sunday services, weddings, and many special occasions.

Joyous Life Foundation is dedicated to nurturing children through love, sports, and music — offering opportunities in swimming, badminton, and piano, while also promoting the importance of sports through educational talks and activities.

We’re also proud to have Pianistas supporting our concert series and co-hosting upcoming children’s and beginner concerts together with Joyce — creating a meaningful platform for young musicians to grow, perform, and truly shine 🌟🎹
