We’re proud to support Sunderland’s own Jill Scott - JS8 as she takes on Jill Scott's Coming Home Challenge for Sport Relief 💛

From Monday 8 to Friday 12 June, Jill will be running and cycling an incredible 388 miles from Wembley Stadium back to Sunderland, finishing at the Stadium of Light 🏃‍♀️🚴‍♀️

This powerful challenge is all about giving back – raising money for Sport Relief-funded projects that use sport to help people feel safe, supported and connected when they need it most.

As her home city, we’d love to see Sunderland get behind her.

Whether you’re following her journey, sharing your support or heading out to cheer her on, it all helps create a special homecoming 🎉

We’re looking for a Digital Systems Administrator to join the team at Culture House Sunderland.

In this role (part time, 25 hpw), you’ll lead on the day-to-day administration and optimisation of key digital systems – from ticketing and website content to event scheduling and customer engagement – helping to create a seamless and high quality digital experience.

You’ll also support systems across Culture House and our wider Creative Smart City Hub Library services, working with teams to keep everything running smoothly.

A huge congratulations to everyone behind Sunderland Shorts Film Festival on another brilliant year. It’s been fantastic to see the city buzzing with filmmakers, audiences and incredible stories from around the world.

Well done to the team and volunteers who make this celebration of creativity possible – already looking forward to seeing what 2027 brings! ✨

🎬 That’s a wrap on Sunderland Shorts Film Festival 2026!

This year’s event was a total joy from start to finish with over 250 films, music videos, animations and documentaries showcasing such a wide array of filmmaking talent all enjoyed by our highest audience numbers ever who we welcomed to the City to be part of our celebration of cinema. As always this is made possible by the volunteers and team across all of our venues and at Culture House who make the festival possible.

Thank you all for being part of the action and see you back for more in 2027.
