Huge congratulations to everyone who ran the Stur Half in oppressive heat! ☀️🏃‍♂️

Despite the heat, 271 Half Marathoners and 67 5K runners crossed the finish line! 🏆

A massive thank you to our heroic water marshals, medical teams, and a fellow nurse runner whose quick actions saved a runner experiencing heat exhaustion. We are relieved to report he has recovered well and sends his deepest gratitude to those that helped him.

Race day is almost here! 🏅

The Stur Half Marathon & 5K takes place this Sunday, and we can’t wait to welcome all of our runners to the start line!

Whether you’re chasing a PB, taking on a new challenge, or running just for the enjoyment, we wish you the very best of luck.

⏰ Online entries close at 12:00pm on Friday 31st July, so don’t miss your chance to sign up in advance.

Entries will also be available on the day for an additional £2 per runner.

We look forward to seeing you all on Sunday – bring your running shoes, your smiles, and your best race-day spirit! 🎉💙

1 week until race day!

Organising is going well, the route has been checked, and the weather is showing that it is not going to be as hot as it has been lately, we may even see light rain showers!

This year we have Neil from On-the-Road Motorcycle Training opening up the route for you, followed just behind by our Doddler lead cyclists, Shams, Sara & Andrew.

Just 4 weeks to go until Sturminster Newton and the surrounding villages come alive with runners taking part in the Stur Half Marathon & 5K on Sunday 2nd August!

Organised by the Dorset Doddlers and part of the Dorset Road Race League, this is a fantastic event for runners of all abilities. Running clubs and groups – gather your teammates, lace up your running shoes, and come along to join the action!

Keep an eye out for our water stations, whose volunteers are known for turning up in fancy dress to keep runners smiling and spirits high around the course – it is impossible not to smile when your water is handed to you by a superhero or a scarecrow!
