Stowting Village Hall: The Peace Room Overlooking the beautiful Kent countryside between Hythe and Ashford, this is the ideal venue to host your event. First World War (1914-1918).

Set in the heart of the Kent countryside between Hythe and Ashford, Stowting Village Hall was built to commemorate the First World War, and is therefore known as The Peace Room. With a modern fully fitted kitchen

and a terrace with views of the Kent Downs it is the ideal venue for your event: whether it's a meeting, a club, a wedding reception, a dinner, or a band practice. Crockery and glasses are available, as well as tables and tablecloths. The Hall can seat approximately 60, or 80 standing. Since the venue was totally refurbished in 2013 the kitchen and toilet facilities are new. Why not contact us and come and take a look?

We are absolutely thrilled with the recent painting and repairs to our beloved village hall! The transformation is remarkable, and the hall now feels bright, welcoming, and like new again.
The recent painting and repairs have truly transformed our Peace Room, making it feel fresh and vibrant.
Special thanks to the dedicated volunteers Tony,Sian,Elodie & Colin Sawyer…whose hard work and donations have made this wonderful improvement possible"

Another successful Burns Night took place at the Peace Room on Friday, thanks to Kitty and Andy Campbell and the team of helpers. We were packed out once again. Fantastic music from Rejigged and the building shook with all the dancing. Thank you to everyone (the Piper, the Haggis chef, the volunteers and the guests) who made it such a fun community event ⭐

Wow! How good was our Quiz Night? With 10 Tables of people enjoying a spirited competition,plus lots of games and a raffle.It was our Most Successful.The evening raised a cleared profit of over £1000.Thanks to Richard Stafford who MC’d the evening with humour..
And Jon and Cathy Russell our Quizmasters for Brilliant questions and tasks.
Thanks to Colin Sawyer for Organising the New heaters and the imminent Solar Panels,keeping us all lovely and warm and generally organising the Quiz.
Of course the event wouldn’t have been complete without Elodie’s amazing Ploughman’s Food Platters helped by Jane Stafford’s Presentation.
FINALLY the biggest thanks of all goes to all of our Quizgoers who made the whole night a memorable evening.
Hope to see you here in 2025.

Yet another packed peace room success last night. Sixty quizzers enjoyed incredible food and a quiz to beat all quizzes. A few rounds of traditional questions were combined with some very silly tasks involving toilet rolls, bin bags, jelly babies and sprouts. There was a lot of creativity and laughter with feedback from some saying it was one the best quizzes they'd been to. Thank you to all supporters and to those who stayed to help clear up.
Credits go to: Elodie for delicious food, Colin for bar and overall managing, Richard and Jane for invaluable assistance in the kitchen, clearing up, question reading and running the auction, Cathy and Jon for compiling the quiz and running the ridiculous tasks.
We already have some ideas for next year, so we'll be back for more soon!

Autumn News 🍂
After several Months of careful research,we have reached the final stage for Our Peace Room to have the New SOLAR PANELS
installed.
Work begins week commencing 4th November.
The good news is that even on cloudy days through the Autumn and Winters we will start Saving on the electricity And keep on saving for Decades to come!

This afternoon we welcomed 50 lucky people into our autumn wonderland for afternoon tea at the peace room. We were treated to a huge array of home made scones and cakes and one person even commented that it was better than Harrods and the Dorchester (both of which they have recently visited). Massive thanks to Martine, Jess, Ann-Louise, Kitty, Cathy, Jon, Ellen and numerous others. It was such a success we might have to repeat it. As a bonus we raised a few hundred pounds for the peace room 🍰🍰🍰👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Don't miss out next time!
