Well that was a hot and stressful one!

Thank you so much to all that attended today, despite the heat. A huge turnout and the usual family fun vibe! Lots of quality animals forward. Well done to everyone, I do love to watch you all grow in your own ways. I am always among friends, meeting new ones all the time!!

A huge thank you to everyone that stepped in today when the tough got going!! A literal last minute call from a poorly judge, whilst I made an emergency dash back home for supremes and champ rosettes, a few messages and Ella Souster stepped in to save the show and Caroline Crouchman this afternoon to cover. Brooke and Toby setting up, Emily Harris Photography helping get entries booked in whilst I took details, Harry Peck for carrying on through an injury, Amelia Grantham stepping in to help steward, as well as several others helping keep the show on track! We were soon back up and running and the show went on!!

I always had in my mind that Showcase was community led and I really think this is what we are achieving. Listening, learning and building a series that offers something for everyone, new opportunities and an environment that will always offer a helping hand.

Pre-entries are a little dis-heartening. I know we have Norfolk this week, Father’s Day tomorrow, blistering heat for past few days and now with the vaccine rollout, we have taken a little bit of a hit but I don’t doubt we will have an awesome day!!

UPDATE: Mr H Peck, has been in the wars and will be attending the afternoon classes but stepping in to judge our Novice/Fun/Childrens ring are these two girls who have been with Showcase since the beginning. They may be young but these girls produce all their ponies and have lots of success in the ring. Who better to inspire the next generation of showing that Ruby and Olivia Claxton!

We plan to be making more opportunities for young judges as I think it is essential to the sport to involve these children πŸ₯°
