The first Un-Convention session at Your City Festival is a 'Social Media Marketing Masterclass' by Andrew Leese from Socially Sound on Friday 3rd June at 2pm.

We're really excited to have Andrew share his insights into what works and what doesn't at this year's event! He's been running successful social media campaigns for artists, labels, and other music platforms for the last 10-years!

About Andrew...
For the past decade, Andrew Leese has worked in the electronic music industry creating and executing marketing campaigns with DJs, artists, labels, conferences and media platforms. Originally from Stoke-on-Trent, a city with a huge electronic music heritage, Andrew started in the music industry as the content manager at Underground Source, before moving to Ibiza in 2013 in pursuit of making his first steps into the industry.

After an internship at Pulse Radio in 2013 and a year as the Content Manager at Ibiza Club News (2014), he landed his dream job as the Social Media Manager for Ibiza Spotlight in 2015. After four years in Ibiza, Leese moved to London to head up Digital Marketing for FUSE London and Enzo Siragusa. His other previous work includes building strategies for Sasha, Eats Everything, Blond:ish, International Music Summit (IMS Ibiza), Archie Hamilton Kevin Knapp and Mustard Media.

Andrew founded Socially Sound in 2020 with the mission of helping artists think like marketers. His current clients include Maceo Plex, Ellum Audio, MicroHertz, wAFF, Nature Records, Ronnie Spiteri and Kenja Records.

Indie Music Matters is a not-for-profit music development service aiming to support ambitious indie, pop & alternative bands, solo artists, and electronic musicians in the Stoke and Staffordshire area.

If you've got a spare 10-15 minutes please complete the short questionnaire here indiemusicmatters.lnk.to/research2022 to help shape the service that we are planning to provide.

We're trying to understand how we can best support local artists and provide a service that meets your needs.

We will also enter you into a draw to win Β£100 voucher to be used to subsidise your next recording session, pay for a bunch of rehearsals, use for your next t-shirt run... basically, if you win, you will be allowed to spend it on anything that helps advance your music career.

It's usually about a tenner to attend but this one is free and takes place on Saturday 1st August from 1:00pm-5:30pm on Zoom.
