We are absolutely gutted to hear about this. Mike Lloyd was one of the original music pioneers of the city. His name echoed throughout the ages through his legendary events, his business prowess and his passion for Stoke-on-Trent's music scene. A true loss for the city and all of our love goes out to his family, friends and all of the people that knew Mike on any level 💜

It is with profound sadness that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of Mike Lloyd, the much-loved founder and familiar face of our company. Mike passed away unexpectedly whilst travelling home from the United States, and our entire family and team are deeply devastated by this loss.

Mike was not only a treasured father and friend, but also a highly respected figure within the Stoke-on-Trent community. His passion, humour, and unwavering dedication helped shape the very heart of this business.

As we navigate this difficult time, we would like to reassure our customers, partners, and community that the company will continue to operate as usual. Mike built this business upon a strong foundation, with a dedicated team and a clear vision, and we remain fully committed to upholding the standards, service, and values he championed.

We kindly ask for privacy and understanding as we make the necessary arrangements to honour his life.

We are immensely proud of all the bands from Newcastle College - not only did you manage to pack out The Sugarmill on a cold Thursday night but you all absolutely smashed it on stage and off. A thank you to all of the staff who've been guiding the students to this moment and a special thank you to Charlie who's been the driving force in making sure the students have everything they need to make this successful 💜🤘

And it goes without saying but a massive thank you to Taz, Lydia, George and Jon at The Sugarmill and all of their amazing staff who make these shows an absolute pleasure to work with 🙏

Legendary night and if this is the talent our city is producing then Stoke will keep on pushing to new heights ✊️

‼️PLEASE READ ‼️

It is with a heavy heart that we are having to announce that is postponed. We've been trying our best this year to gather enough resources to make the festival financially viable but unfortunately despite our efforts, we haven't been able to secure enough to justify hosting the event. This has been a tough decision but one that we feel as though is necessary and one that is equally as important to our own mental health.

However despite the postponement, we have already begun working on the festival for 2026 in which we will be back with vengeance and with one specific purpose at the centre of that. It is important that we put on an event to shake up the music industry within the city and this can only be achieved by ensuring the event is carried out to its full potential. We absolutely love our city and we are prepared to stop at nothing to make this happen ✊

There is plenty of awesome events happening this year to celebrate (The city's 100th birthday 🥳) and we emplore you to support the local scene in every way in which you can. We will be making a heightened effort to go to as many local shows in 2025, so we hope to see you all there.

Keep those eyes peeled in summer as we will be making announcements during this period about the festival and other events we are pursuing 👀
