Hey,

We Hope everyone’s had a fantastic Summer break and managed to rest up a little, in preparation for the year ahead.

The teams been extremely busy hence you’ve not heard anything from us on social media, along with the sessions being on hold, up until now that is!!!!

However it’s really good to have a break from the INTERNET 🙂

So, we are now able to share the news with you that we have partnered up with a well established local Basketball Club “THE NORTHWOOD VALIANTS”

The VALIANTS have been established for around 20yrs, with me starting my playing days with them around 24yrs back. Due to the passion and commitment from the team they have managed to keep there club going which is testament to the fantastic work being done.

What does this mean for you/your child:-

They will have a solid foundation and club to work with should they want to pursue a career in Basketball. The VALIANTS we now have ateam competing in the Cheshire League, which is something all students will be working towards should they want to play competitively.

3 highly experienced coaches on hand to train and develop, whilst still applying the 121 support where required.

Sessions will now be held at
NORTHWOOD STADIUM, every Saturday from 11-1. The facilities are exceptional, flooring is cushioned for any falls, more balls and hoops than the NBA and in general a lot more sports activities.

With the session now running for 2hrs the cost will be £5 per child, and we will offer a bank transfer option for anyone wanting to pay monthly.

Abz will continue to coach the SlamDunk students, with the support of Trev.

SlamDunk will run as a grassroots club whereby children between the age 6-12 start out with us and work their way up to the mighty VALIANTS

Should a child be showing the ability and potential to move up earlier the option is there, and vice versa if someone older prefers to stay with the SlamDunk crew based on ability that’s absolutely fine.

Remaining TRUE to our ethos and values this change has come about to give our loyal students the best possible coaching, training , skills and knowledge so they can go on and play at a good level.

We hope you agree that these minor changes will in turn benefit the kids and we appreciate your ongoing support.

Our coaches will be taking part in the Dougie Mac Charity Bike Ride (60 miles in total) it’s for a fantastic cause so well worth the pain cycling up to the highest village in England in Buxton, The Flash!

Right then folks we have been very quiet of late and not for any reason in particular....

As many of our followers will know SlamDunk was setup to give local Basketball Players a platform to develop skills, make new friends and live an enjoyable life being active, of which we have achieved over the past 4yrs.

With growth comes attention, and due to the success we've experienced a number of Coaches and Players have now gone onto bigger and better things, which we are very proud to have played a part in and wish them continued success in the future.

It's been a difficult decision but we have decided that Super Sunday's moving forward will be for kids/teens aged from 6-14yrs.

Why is this? To give 100% focus to the youngsters and develop foundation skills with a view to have avenues for them to play at a higher level should they choose.

Therefore any players 14yrs upwards wanting to play Basketball should contact Northwood Valiants, Hanley Hustlers or CMBZ Training, all local clubs based in Stoke and on Facebook. We have been working in partnership with these clubs over the past 4 years and can't recommend these guys enough... very knowledgeable, professional and focused on developing each person to their potential.

We remain committed to ensuring Stoke has a platform for any youngsters looking to play Basketball and we hope to see all of the old faces over the forthcoming week's
