We are a little unknown to a lot of Edgeley and Cheadle Heath residents. As is the park we sit in!

On the map if you go up from our centre that is Essex Avenue and it meets Stockport Road (up from Brinksway but before Morrisons). The road directly opposite is St Lesmo Road.

And the name of the park we sit in is Cheadle Heath Park. On the map all that green area behind the centre and towards the left of us is the park.

Many years ago our community centre was nearly lost. But a group of people rescued it to ensure the space would continue to be available for everyone.

We are always keen to support any activity in our space that brings people together through social activities like the Sheds group, Friendly Fridays, Mums and babies, Re-engage for older people as well as physical activities like Yoga, Dancing, and more recently the Friday night self defence class.

Having somewhere to go, to be with people can really make a difference.

Weekends are usually full with bookings for children's parties.

It's what we hire our space out for the most! We have lots of other types of gatherings at the weekends too.

We recommend that make a booking request a month or so in advance if not longer! You can request to see if our centre is available via our website.

How lovely is this - baby sensory play time.

You can attend classes on a Wednesday at our centre with Baby Bloom Stockport.

10am - Busy Bees (6-15 months)
11am - Caterpillar Club (0-6 months)

One of the questions we get asked about for children's parties is about indoor bouncy castles and is there space.

The answer is yes!

Congratulations to the team 👏 sounds like a busy summer. Well done

Our summer school holiday programme finished yesterday.

We hope everyone had a great time with us this summer. There are lots of stories and pictures to share over the next few days including the "puddling pool" that appeared after the unexpected deluge of rain!

But today we just want to say thank you to these 4 amazing ladies who make up our leadership team. They spent months organising, planning, getting grants and more before we even got to August.

Well done to (left to right) Rachel, Pam, Katy and Anna. Friendly Fridays was buzzing and we had lots of very grateful thank you messages from children and adults. You did good! Providing a space for around 180 adults and kids every Friday with food and activities for free. Thank you for all your hard work.

Friendly Fridays continues next Friday 10 am - 2 pm. At Rose Walker Community cente, Essex Avenue SK3 0JA. The team are organising pizza for lunch next Friday! 😋

Krav Maga Stockport are now holding sessions at our centre every Friday from 7.00pm - 8.30pm.

Master Kato and Master Mike are the instructors and teach top level real world self defence

No level of fitness or martial arts experience needed.

We were recently asked if we had a baby changing mat that a group could use when hiring our centre and they were delighted to learn that we have a baby changing station!

This isn't usually a facility available in a community centre that you can hire.
