Let’s continue to shine a spotlight on more of our super talented junior female athletes coming to us in September.

Introducing Sophia Davies ⭐️

Sophia is competing in her first year as a U14 athlete and is a middle-distance and cross-country runner with Brentwood Beagles Athletic Club.

Her recent achievements include winning the 2026 Middlesex County U14 titles in cross country, 800m and 1500m, setting new county records in both track events!

She also finished 3rd at the 2026 National Inter-Counties Cross Country Championships, 5th at the English National Cross Country Championships, and placed 2nd in the UK Cross Challenge.

Sophia also won the 2026 U14 TCS Mini Marathon London Borough Challenge, and placed 3rd overall in the 2026 TCS Mini Marathon. She was also part of the winning U13 team at the English National Road Relay Championships.

Sophia is also a triathlete, earning her place on the London regional team in 2025.

We want to take some time to showcase some of our superb junior athletes coming to our start line from across the UK in September.

Introducing superstar Sophie Bickerstaff!

Sophie is member of the illustrious Brentwood Beagles Athletics Club, coached by Paul Forrest.

Sophie was selected for the 2026 England Junior Cross Country team, and ran the fastest female leg of the mixed relay race at the SIAB International race. Sophie won a national gold medal as part of the 2025 English Road Relay U15G trio.

Sophie’s recent U15 achievements include South of England gold medals for both the 2026 5km road race and 2025 3000m(i).

Sophie is also a triathlete, earning her place in the East of England regional team in 2024 & 2025.

The Monument Mile Classic is calling

If you are a sub-3:40 1,500m male athlete or a sub-4:25 1,500m female athlete, you are invited to express interest in our elite races. We will offer you:

🎽Free race entry
🏨 Free two nights accommodation in Stirling
🛬 Free Airport Transfers (Glasgow or Edinburgh Airports)

Further contribution towards travel expenses will be considered depending on the level of athlete.

You will also get:

🌍To race in a World Athletics permit meet
📸 Official PF times for both the mile and the 1500m split mark
💵 Opportunity to race for our prize fund (1st to 5th going £500, £400, £300, £200, £100
🔥 To enjoy a race experience with unrivalled atmosphere with a Glasgow DJ bringing the tunes, and against a backdrop of professional pyrotechnics

We are delighted to announce that, new for 2026, each and every one of our race athletes will receive an Athlete Pack from our generous sponsors at ArcticFit.

Each box contains a pair of technical socks, a hydra soft bottle and race day magnets.

Athlete Packs will be given out to athletes at race registration.

The Champions Dinner 🏆

2026 will see our first ever Champions Dinner on the evening of Friday 4th September, the evening before the race.

Over the next few weeks, all past male and female champions will receive invitations to our Champions Dinner at The Golden Lion Hotel in Stirling, as we come together to formally recognise and celebrate eight years of track mile champions at The Monument Mile Classic.
