SPILSBY LIGHT NIGHT TO TAKE A BREAK IN 2026 AS SESSIONS ARTS PLAN FUTURE PROGRAMME

At Sessions Arts, we want to share that Spilsby Light Night will be taking a break this year.

This decision has been made because it was not possible to have the necessary funding in place to enable the delivery of the event on this occasion. While this is disappointing, we want to reassure our audiences, artists and partners that this pause is part of a wider and positive plan for the future of arts activity in Spilsby.

Our current focus is on the opening of Spilsby Sessions House as a major new arts and cultural venue, scheduled to open in 2027. As part of this exciting next chapter, we are aiming to incorporate elements of Spilsby Light Night into a launch event for the new venue, bringing back familiar creative highlights in a new and expanded way.

Alongside this, we are actively working to secure funding to enable a programme of local outdoor arts events in 2026, with activity planned to begin in late spring/early summer. This programme will continue our commitment to delivering accessible, high-quality arts experiences for the local community.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Spilsby Light Night over the years, we can’t wait to share what’s next and rest assured we will be back! ✨

Just 1 month to go until Lightwaves 2025 lights up the Lincolnshire Coast! 💡

Now in its 2nd year, this free celebration of light, community, and creativity returns on the 24th & 25th October.

📍 Friday 24 October | 6–8pm | Chapel St Leonards
📍 Saturday 25 October | 6–9pm | Sutton on Sea

On the Friday evening, you can enjoy a fire garden in the centre of Chapel St Leonards and take part in a Light Walk to the North Sea Observatory.

On Saturday in Sutton on Sea, join us for a magical Light night with a community parade, live music, light installations, projections, walkabout acts and a party atmosphere.

Don’t miss this magical weekend! 💫

Did you catch this beautiful piece ‘Drift’ by artist Will Lindley projected onto the White Hart Pub on Saturday night? ‘Drift’ was co-commissioned with Frequency Festival - an international festival of digital culture produced by Threshold Studios. You'll be able to see this again at Frequency Festival in Lincoln in October later in the year. Spilsby Light Night 2025 was produced by SessionsArts with funding from UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and a National Project grant from Arts Council England.
