Spalding Folk Club We have been running, continuously (other than during Covid), since May 1979. Even then we continued over the internet thanks to Zoom sessions.

Currently we run monthly on the first Wednesday at the South Holland Centre in Spalding Market Place at 8.00pm. Spalding folk club has been running continuously since 1979 - and a couple of the original members are still with us. We aim to have a good time, encourage local performers and to present the best professional guests that we can afford. There has been a strong tradition of songwriting fr

Thank you Rick Huddleston for a super night at Spalding Folk Club. All original songs from this prolific songwriter, great guitar accompaniment and an easy manner and rapport with the audience. The repertoire was nicely mixed both in pace and content but all the time edgy, challenging the status quo and thought-provoking. Added to that many had choruses that had the audience eagerly joining in. It's great to know that we have such talent here in Lincolnshire.

We were superbly entertained last night at Spalding Folk Club by the excellent Jez Lowe. Skilfully crafted songs, brilliant arrangements on guitar, bouzouki and mandolin and the kind of rapport that comes with years of engaging with the audience. There was lots of humour, too and two particular songs had us all rolling in the aisles: Talk to Me Dirty in Geordie and The Frozen Roman (a primer in cod Latin!) Jez has a keen eye observing human behaviour and a knack of succinctly putting it into words. A wonderful evening.
