Spalding Folk Club

We have been running, continuously (other than during Covid), since May 1979. Even then we continued over the internet thanks to Zoom sessions.

Currently we run monthly on the first Wednesday at the South Holland Centre in Spalding Market Place at 8.00pm. Spalding folk club has been running continuously since 1979 - and a couple of the original members are still with us. We aim to have a good time, encourage local performers and to present the best professional guests that we can afford. There has been a strong tradition of songwriting from the residents over many years, including many awards at the Radio Lincolnshire “Write a Lincolnshire Folk Song” competition. https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=200246205025560430434.00048c35aac00dbb2de2b&msa=0&ll=52.779612,-0.156641&spn=0.028191,0.084543

Dear friends
Another sad post I'm afraid.
Our dear friend Anne Smith passed away on Wednesday 21st October.
Anne, along with her husband Tony, was a staunch supporter of all things folk in Lincolnshire and has been an avid supporter of Spalding Folk Club.
We will miss her so much.
Thinking of Tony and all the family and sending our love.
Liz, Martin, Paul and Christine

Just when you think a folk club night couldn't get any better - well it did tonight at Spalding Folk Club. We had the superb We Mavericks from Australia - Aussie, Lindsay and New Zealander, Victoria - excellent musicians and lovely voices that blended in sweet harmonies. Some songs were liltingly gentle and others were delivered with such energy - it was obvious from the floor that they had such empathy and joy in their music. The audience fed off this energy and enthusiastically joined in the choruses. Thanks to all who turned up to make this such a great evening.

Spalding Folk Club welcomes back Australia-based duo We Mavericks this coming Wednesday. They gave us a super night when they came a couple of years ago.
