Whovians, did you know we have TWO Time Lords and one iconic companion joining us this year?

1. David Bradley
A familiar face to many fans, David Bradley has taken on multiple major roles in Doctor Who. Most notably, he portrayed the First Doctor (originally played by William Hartnell) in several episodes and spin-offs. He also appeared as the villainous Solomon in the 2012 episode “Dinosaurs on a Spaceship.”

2. Peter Davison
Fun fact—he’s also the father-in-law of David Tennant! Cast at just 29, Davison was the youngest actor to play the Doctor at the time. His incarnation is fondly remembered for his signature Edwardian cricket attire and a gentler, more collaborative approach to problem-solving.

3. Peter Purves
Before becoming a beloved companion, Purves first appeared in the show as a one-off character, Morton Dill, in the serial “The Chase.” The production team was so impressed that they quickly brought him back as Steven Taylor, companion to the First Doctor.

🎉 GUEST ANNOUNCEMENT 🎉
We are absolutely thrilled to reveal that David Bradley will be our headline guest at this year’s Spalding Comicon!

Best known for his unforgettable role as Argus Filch in the Harry Potter films (appearing in all but one), David’s career spans an incredible range of film and television. His big-screen credits include Hot Fuzz, The World's End, and Exorcist: The Beginning.

On television, he’s portrayed iconic characters such as the First Doctor in the Doctor Who 2017 Christmas Special. You may also recognize him from Game of Thrones, Broadchurch, and After Life.

David has also made his mark in voice acting, bringing Geppetto to life in Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio (2022) and voicing Fowler, the heroic rooster, in Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget (2023).

He’ll be available to sign memorabilia including DVDs, books, posters, and more — so don’t miss the chance to get your favorite Harry Potter item personally signed!
David makes only a handful of convention appearances each year, and we are truly honored to welcome him to Spalding Comicon.

Did you know that our guest, Peter Davison, has returned to film a brand-new mini-episode at the very location where he made his final regular appearance in the series more than 40 years ago?

He has just filmed Destination: Daleks at Butler’s Wharf in central London to promote an upcoming Blu-ray release.

SPALDING COMICON GUEST ANNOUNCEMENT – PETER DAVISON

We’re thrilled to announce that Peter Davison will be joining us at Spalding Comicon!

Best known for his role as the Fifth Doctor in Doctor Who (1981–1984), Peter also won hearts as Tristan Farnon in All Creatures Great and Small. His casting as the Doctor came after producer John Nathan-Turner spotted him in a cricket match photo and later convinced him—over lunch—to take on the iconic role. Peter made his debut in the final moments of Logopolis in 1981.

At just 30 years old, he was even featured on This Is Your Life, where he was surprised by Eamonn Andrews during a Doctor Who promotional event in Trafalgar Square—making him one of the youngest ever subjects of the show.
