Nowโฆ we know sheโs going to hate this and will be rolling her eyes the second she sees it, but thereโs no way we could let such a huge milestone slip by without shouting from the rooftops just how special, and how important, the wonderful Sandy Williamson is to us.
For those of you who live locally or visit Old Hall regularly, youโll know Sandy well. After years working at St Felix School where she beacame a favourite with students and staff alike, she joined Bella as part of the Southwold Maize Maze team over a decade ago, becoming a familiar face in the little green tea hut. When Old Hall Cafรฉ opened, Sandy moved into the kitchen team, and over the years she became the beating heart of our business: the person who truly embodies the sense of family, care and community weโve always hoped to nurture at Old Hall. She remains in the kitchen today as a core part of the Tudor Bakehouse team (lucky ducks!), and an indispensable member of the Old Hall events team.
To know Sandy is to love her - the only downside is that we have to share her with so many people! A wonderful wife, mum, nanny, great nanny, sister, aunty, friend and workโMama, she NEVER stops. Whether sheโs at work, at home, in the garden, at the allotment, helping neighbours, supporting charity projects or just generally being game for anything, she does it all with more energy and stamina than someone half her age. Selfless, kindโhearted, generous, twinklyโeyed, wickedly funny and always putting others first - she's an inspiration to us all and one of the most universally loved people weโve ever known.
Sandy, from all your friends and colleagues at Old Hall, past and present, we wish you the biggest, happiest 70th birthday. We love you so very much, and we hope youโre being spoiled absolutely rotten today.
