Happy Sunday team!

🔨🔧⚠️WEBSITE⚠️🔧🔨

I know you’re all keen and we are so appreciative of it, but please please please stop applying for stuff via the website, we aren’t ready for you just yet.

Although there is a function, but, please don’t do it, we are still updating bits and pieces.

We will post on here once we are ready!

It won’t be long, but these things are time consuming, detail led, and all around kids and jobs, so please just a little bit more patience 😅🙏🏼

Happy new year Beach Dubbers!

Rest assured we are working behind the scenes at the moment on the website, boring updates, and reactivating email systems (we shut them down after the show to save on the fees), so if you can please avoid applying for anything on there that would be amazing because it won’t count 😅, we have to reset some bits when we are done updating.

Applications will be open soon and we will do a post about that when it happens!

We can’t wait to see you all on Sunday 2nd August 2026 when we grace our beautiful common again for a great day by the sea! 💕

🎉ANNOUNCEMENT🎉

We are so sorry this has taken this long, however we have had some delayed invoices so had to wait for them to come through and more importantly our confirmed date, but, we have some massive news!

We are mega proud to announce that you have raised at Beach Dubbin’ 2025:

🎉£27,447.00🎉

Here’s where the money will be going:

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance - £10,000 (and this year, it has been personal)

Beach Dubbin’ Arthur’s Fund - £10,000 (we will post more about this another time, but, it’s big, beautiful, and a wonderful tribute)

Sophie's Legacy - £1,500
coppafeel - £1,000
Breastfeeding Network Portsmouth - £500
For the love of our Frenchies - £500
Hampshire fire and rescue charity - £500
Yarn Stormers - for their chosen charity Thunder Foundation - £500
Dream Team for their chosen charity - £500

This leaves £2,447.00 in our Beach Dubbin’ show fund which will help pay for background bills that keep the show going such as deposits for toilets, and website costs etc.

This is a two part announcement, because, as a show after this year’s totals, we have raised for local charities and community projects since 2018 an incredible:

This is a post we never ever thought we would make.

But as we mark the start of Breast Cancer Awareness month, our very own Kate Burch, one of our OG six organisers, has unfortunately recently been diagnosed with early stage Breast Cancer, and thanks to our incredible NHS she has had an op and awaiting the all important results.

I think I speak for all of the team when I say this, but if anyone can kick cancer’s arse - it’s our Kate. Cancer wishes it had a cure for Kate if anything! She is the most determined, positive, kind, thoughtful, giving, loving, and most fun person ever. To say we adore her would be the understatement of the century. We love you babes, and we are all behind you 💕

Ironically, Kate was training for the Great South Run but obvs can’t do it anymore, so, one of our volunteers and someone very close to Kate - Declan - is going to run it in her place and quite rightly for Cancer Research UK

🎉BEACH DUBBIN’ 2025 WRITE UP🎉

Well, what a show! What a year!

We are just so relieved we got yesterday done, and that you all turned up in your thousands (yes, really!) and brought those famous Beach Dubbin’ vibes!

This year has been a slog for the team in so many ways - show related, and personal, but, with an amazing team who are stronger and closer than ever, our INCREDIBLE volunteers, sponsors, show support, clubs, traders, caterers, and EVERYONE who turned up to the show - we powered through and did it!

We have been challenged in ways beyond even our comprehension, and we will be honest with you, there was stages this year where we genuinely didn’t think we’d be able to go ahead. Do we take a break and postpone? Does the show go on?

The challenges we faced this year have come thick and fast in the shape of having our space limited by the vital sea defence works, layout changes, traffic management (my goodness aren’t we glad that’s done with!), and more importantly costs.

In the last year alone we have found that our costs have gone up by at least a third.
This has been a combination of all examples of infrastructure cost increases (other event organisers will be nodding furiously), and thanks to this economic situation we are all in this has resulted in companies understandably tightening their purse strings and having less budget to contribute to sponsorship, and or providing discounted services.
Running large scale events like this is very expensive to do, and to be able to do what we do, and donate the amounts we do to charity, we rely heavily on donations, time, services, volunteering, and the generosity of you all turning up - paying pitch fees, and your entry fees.

We know most would be aware of this, but as we found out time and time again this weekend by talking to people that a lot are still unaware that we are a not for profit charity show, we take no money from this show as people, or as organisers.

A minimal chunk of it is reserved for show costs, and ALL the rest is donated to charity.

As those who were on site with us in the morning discovered when the air ambulance landed - you never know when you’re going to need them, and without vital donations such as the ones we make, these flights simply cannot happen, and lives would certainly be lost. Yesterday’s landing was a sobering realisation that’s for sure!

This year was an absolute blast, and we’ve all had the most amazing time with you all!

We’d love to do our thank yous:

- our volunteers - our friends, family, colleagues, friends of volunteers - my goodness. You all turn up from early Saturday morning and then leave Sunday evening. Working your socks off, getting on with it, and you are the best best team we could ever ask for. Thank you will never be enough for you all. You guys ARE the reason the show can go ahead. - A special mention goes to Thea, and to Jade, Mike, and Kieran - you all know what you’ve done for us this weekend, and we couldn’t be more grateful.
- PCC events team, Mandrake Events, and Victorious Festival. They are a huge help, either with advice, advocacy for the show, traffic management, and also safety barriers which saves us a huge cost.
- 3rd Hayling Scouts who are our amazing parking team in Show Arena 2 who always turn up, big smiles, and work so hard all day!

One last mention, thank you to our families and friends, and more importantly - our kids - big and little. The four of us can get pretty stressed out at times with the show, and you guys often provide the shoulders to cry on and the ears to get a bashing. You keep us all sane, and grounded. We are looking forward to spending the rest of summer being semi normal humans.

We are just waiting on 3 final invoices, our date for next year (yes, we are doing it again!), and we will announce our totals and date!
As always, when we announce we are very transparent and will itemise where everything will go, and how much we will retain.

We will also this week post the show and shine winners, so don’t fret, we are just getting all the photos together!

🚨Clubs and Show and Shine🚨
- Please do not leave before 4pm
- Your area is static from 10am to 4pm as per the terms and conditions you signed up to.
- Once 4pm hits you can then start to leave at a walking pace.
- Stay aware of your surroundings as there will still be people on the site
- Please follow all instructions from our volunteers, this is not our first rodeo

🚨Traders and Caterers🚨
- Please do not pack up before 4pm
- Please wait until the bulk of the traffic is cleared, then you will be able to go to the trader parking area to collect your vehicle
- When you do collect your vehicle please keep speed at a walking pace with hazards on

‼️LEAVING INSTRUCTIONS FOR EVERYONE‼️

- Please follow all instructions given by our show crew volunteers and our traffic management team.
- We will get you out, and it takes about 20/30mins to do so.
- There will be a queue to get out as we operate out of one gate and have to manage the traffic on the highway as well.
- Please try and be patient, and please do not abuse our volunteer show crew or our traffic management team - it really bums us out when this happens.
- This is not our first time doing this, we are efficient with what we do, so just bear with us!
- If you can, wait a bit before you leave rather than everyone going all at once at 4pm. This allows for a steady flow of traffic.

As a show, we will be packing up, and will be on site until 7pm!
Please ensure you and your vehicles are offsite by 7pm otherwise you will be locked in and will have to contact Portsmouth City Council Security to come and let you out.
