🎉BEACH DUBBIN’ 2025 WRITE UP🎉
Well, what a show! What a year!
We are just so relieved we got yesterday done, and that you all turned up in your thousands (yes, really!) and brought those famous Beach Dubbin’ vibes!
This year has been a slog for the team in so many ways - show related, and personal, but, with an amazing team who are stronger and closer than ever, our INCREDIBLE volunteers, sponsors, show support, clubs, traders, caterers, and EVERYONE who turned up to the show - we powered through and did it!
We have been challenged in ways beyond even our comprehension, and we will be honest with you, there was stages this year where we genuinely didn’t think we’d be able to go ahead. Do we take a break and postpone? Does the show go on?
The challenges we faced this year have come thick and fast in the shape of having our space limited by the vital sea defence works, layout changes, traffic management (my goodness aren’t we glad that’s done with!), and more importantly costs.
In the last year alone we have found that our costs have gone up by at least a third.
This has been a combination of all examples of infrastructure cost increases (other event organisers will be nodding furiously), and thanks to this economic situation we are all in this has resulted in companies understandably tightening their purse strings and having less budget to contribute to sponsorship, and or providing discounted services.
Running large scale events like this is very expensive to do, and to be able to do what we do, and donate the amounts we do to charity, we rely heavily on donations, time, services, volunteering, and the generosity of you all turning up - paying pitch fees, and your entry fees.
We know most would be aware of this, but as we found out time and time again this weekend by talking to people that a lot are still unaware that we are a not for profit charity show, we take no money from this show as people, or as organisers.
A minimal chunk of it is reserved for show costs, and ALL the rest is donated to charity.
As those who were on site with us in the morning discovered when the air ambulance landed - you never know when you’re going to need them, and without vital donations such as the ones we make, these flights simply cannot happen, and lives would certainly be lost. Yesterday’s landing was a sobering realisation that’s for sure!
This year was an absolute blast, and we’ve all had the most amazing time with you all!

- our volunteers - our friends, family, colleagues, friends of volunteers - my goodness. You all turn up from early Saturday morning and then leave Sunday evening. Working your socks off, getting on with it, and you are the best best team we could ever ask for. Thank you will never be enough for you all. You guys ARE the reason the show can go ahead. - A special mention goes to Thea, and to Jade, Mike, and Kieran - you all know what you’ve done for us this weekend, and we couldn’t be more grateful.
- PCC events team, Mandrake Events, and Victorious Festival. They are a huge help, either with advice, advocacy for the show, traffic management, and also safety barriers which saves us a huge cost.

One last mention, thank you to our families and friends, and more importantly - our kids - big and little. The four of us can get pretty stressed out at times with the show, and you guys often provide the shoulders to cry on and the ears to get a bashing. You keep us all sane, and grounded. We are looking forward to spending the rest of summer being semi normal humans.
We are just waiting on 3 final invoices, our date for next year (yes, we are doing it again!), and we will announce our totals and date!
As always, when we announce we are very transparent and will itemise where everything will go, and how much we will retain.
