This weekend, I had the privilege of attending the last dinner service at a beautiful restaurant in Surrey. It was a bittersweet experience that left me reflecting on the importance of supporting our local businesses.

In these challenging times, both companies and individuals are grappling with rising costs, whether it’s energy, staffing, or venue expenses. Everyone is striving to make a living, to keep their dreams alive, and to provide for their families.

What if we chose collaboration over competition? What if we decided to uplift each other instead of competing for every inch of the market? There is enough opportunity for all of us to thrive, but it requires a shift in mindset.

Let’s commit to supporting each other. Visit that local restaurant, shop at the nearby store, or hire the small business owner down the street. By doing so, we strengthen our communities and build a network of support that benefits everyone.

Authenticity and trust are the two most important values in business for me. Especially in the events arena, How can you show up to pitch for a project if you’re not being yourself?

It’s true, not everyone will like you. You can’t be everyone’s cup of tea. But I truly believe that showing up as your true self is the best way to attract and win the clients you want.

Everyone has their preferred way to buy and sell. Personally, I believe in building relationships with people, genuinely finding out what makes them tick. This is how I like ‘to be sold to,’ and it’s the approach I use with my potential clients.

After all, people buy from people. By being authentic and building trust, we create meaningful connections that lead to lasting business relationships.
