Dear Facebook,

As you are aware, it's not been an easy couple of years for performers and have been lacking my presence on here for some time. Sadly, it's been getting to me in a great deal that many of my singing peers have been getting bookings, yet my diary remains empty. 👎

It's not a sympathy vote, it's just an observation which has not been great on my mental health. Lets just say, I have had no choice but to dip my toe in the water, rather than being completely submerged like my other established friends. Behind the scenes, I am working on a great band project as we speak, but these ventures take time and commitment.

However, Christmas is just round the corner and I want to at least sprinkle some kind of Christmas cheer with glitter as December approaches.

So I am asking if any of my musical friends, groups or homies are feeling generous to share the stage or promote me towards these opportunities on the run up towards Christmas, it would really mean a huge amount.

Please do give me a great big shout! ❤

🎹 KEYBOARDIST WANTED 👀

Hey guys! Got some rather exciting news to share and on the look out at the same time..

As a sideline to my solo work, I am becoming a lead singer of a soul band that’s being put together for gigs coming up from the summer and beyond. 🤗

We are looking for someone who would be interested and committed to join us as a keyboardist/pianist who would be comfortable learning various chords/melodies and sequences for popular soul cover songs.

We would be looking at getting gigs across the south coast between Southampton (possibly Bournemouth) and Brighton.

I know you may be asking yourselves why I couldn’t do it..? However I want to focus on a different aspect of performing after much consideration.

We are yet to confirm when rehearsals are to start, but we would be looking to rehearse somewhere between Southampton and Portsmouth. Having your own transport is essential.

This may be a rather amusing post to see and don’t get me wrong, this app was fun to play with! 😂

But let me talk to you about inspiration!

One of mine is Whitney Houston. She was at the top of her game during the 80’s and 90’s when I was growing up exposed to soul music. I was immensely sad to hear of her passing back in 2012.

We know, that it is impossible to match any vocal style to another person because our anatomies are completely different - it is what makes us unique! However, I have enjoyed over the years using my listening skills and vocal capabilities to capture some of her riffs and motifs which inspire my own vocals today.

Biography

Paul Flores is a Vocalist & Pianist by ear. He started at the age of 5 learning basic classical repertoire for Piano, during which he discovered his singing capabilities. By his early teens he discovered the ability to add structure to series of songs just by listening to the radio, other artists and taking requests around his childhood home piano up until his adolescence. After taking a long break from music, Paul re-trained his vocal capability and joined one of the UK's most successful singing groups ‘LoveSoul’ choir in 2016. However, his passionate piano renditions and covers never left him. He continues to create arrangements and covers of various artists worldwide, always seeking to work with other vocalists to create new and different collaborations. As well as accepting requests publicly, he has been known to engage with his audiences by channelling his emotions and personal experiences into what he performs. Paul’s ‘Easy listening’ piano style along with a clear but edgy soulful voice became a quick success and has been asked to write his own music in the near future for others to enjoy. Inspirational vocal artists include; Nat King Cole, Luther Vandross, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, SEAL, and Alicia Keys.
