Join our North Sea dip on the UK's number 1 beach Sandhaven on Sunday August 14th to learn more about how you can sea swim safely, win prizes, plus raise vital funds for North East charities. Already been in the sea and after any excuse to get back into it? Never fancied getting into the sea but your curious? Like raising money for charity? Fancy finding out more about sea swimming safely? If your

answer is yes to any of the above then this event is for you! Grab your swimming costumes, trunks, friends and family and Brave the Waves of the North Sea, under the watchful eyes of seasoned sea swimmers, surfers and life guards on Southhaven beach between 11am and 3pm on August 14th 2022. Limited places are available with all profits raised being evenly donated between South Shields Volunteer Life Brigade www.ssvlb.org.uk and South Shields Surf CIC and their Beach Access North East www.beachaccessnortheast.org/

Challengers will be asked to don their finest swimwear (or fancy dress) and Brave the Waves of the North Sea for up to 10 minutes. THANK YOU to everyone who took part in the very first Brave the Waves. We look forward to seeing you all next year!

So the sea fret held off just long enough and this happened!!!

THANK YOU to everyone who took part in the very first ever Brave the Waves!

Much fun was had, lots of incredible people donned their swimming costumes, swerved the jelly fish and BRAVED THE WAVES.

So very proud of you all. Hopefully the start of an annual event and lots of money raised for the amazing charities South Shields Volunteer Life Brigade and South Shields Surf Schools Beach Access program.

Speaking of which keep your eyes 👀 peeled for the launch of our raffle to raise vital funds for the two charities this week with fantastic prizes including an opening night family pass to Disney on Ice at Utilita Arena, high tea for two with Little Haven Hotel, soft play and bowling at The Dunes, Lazer Quest and Fun Cards with Ocean Beach, a family ticket for The Ocean Eye, a bottle of rum from The Steamboat pub and much much more!!!!
