Skipton Triathlon, Sunday 14 April - postponed !

Hi all,
This morning we had a ‘pitch inspection’ of the transition area for Skipton Tri, it is absolutely sodden and with more rain forecast over the next week then we’ve taken the difficult decision to postpone both the Adult and Junior Triathlon until later in the year.
We have a provisional date already in mind and are just waiting to confirm with a few final parties over the next few days.
If you’ve entered either Adult or Junior event then please see below from Racebest and Evensplits (this will be going out to all participants imminently), please do NOT email Racebest/Evensplits until they come back with the new date and your options (transfer or refund).
For all you wonderful volunteers that have come forwards, once we have the new date we’ll check whether you are able to help then.
Hopefully we’ll have better weather later in the summer, thanks for your understanding.

Dear Participant,
Following the recent spell of very wet weather, this morning we have carried out an inspection of the grassed area in Aireville Park where the event Transition is due to be located. Unfortunately, the whole area is extremely waterlogged and, given the weather forecast for the next week, it is very unlikely to dry out to any appreciable extent before next Sunday. In our opinion, the whole area would quickly turn into a mud bath, and would result in a poor race experience for all concerned. We have considered alternative locations for Transition, but have been unable to identify anywhere suitable. Therefore, we have taken the difficult decision to postpone both the Skipton Triathlon and Junior Triathlon to a later date.
We hope to be able to confirm the rearranged date within the next few days, and will be in touch again as soon as we have done so. At that time, we will explain your options with respect to moving your entry to the new date, transferring to another spring triathlon event or claiming a refund of your race entry fee. Please do not email or contact us until you have had this follow up communication in a few days time.
Please accept our apologies for the postponement: I know that it is not the news that anyone (including us) wants to hear, but the circumstances are genuinely beyond our control.
