Coach and horses drill to warm the kids up in yesterday's heatwave.

This was then followed by 60-90 minutes solid grading practice for the yellow belt students which involved much whaling, moaning and gnashing of teeth.

Especially by me LOL. Great work by this little gang.

Delighted to see young Ella, who's not been long in class with us, developing the confidence to lead the class in a short combination drill. She's clearly expanding her comfort zones physically and psychologically too.

Never being the most conventional instructor I thought the kids might enjoy blade work and tussling. I wasn’t wrong, luckily only rubber blades.

A big shout out to Archie and Isaiah who are two of our newest students for achieving in their first grading, a yellow merit stripe which is absolutely amazing. It helps when you discover one of their dad's is an existing black belt, expert holding 4th Dan.

Wow a nice start for Riley, Sam and Stephen as they begin to attempt team kata work. I'd literally given them advice on how to use changing points of who leads the kata and this is their first attempt.

I got a good feeling we'll see them doing a lot more very soon
