♻️ What happens to the leftover plastic when we manufacture your tokens?

For Recycle Week, we're taking you behind the scenes of our manufacturing process.

When our tokens are injection moulded, excess plastic called a sprue is created. It's the channel the molten plastic travels through before reaching the token mould.

Once it's done its job, we don't simply throw it away.

We collect the sprues, grind them back down and reuse the material in our manufacturing process.

It's one of the advantages of manufacturing our tokens ourselves here in Sheffield: we can keep a closer eye on the materials we're using and find ways to reduce unnecessary production waste.

⭐ What's something a pupil does that deserves recognition, but often goes unnoticed?

We're not talking about getting full marks or winning a competition.

We're thinking about the quieter moments.

Maybe it's noticing that someone is sitting alone and going over to them.

Trying again without being asked after getting something wrong.

Putting equipment away that somebody else left out.

Helping a classmate without expecting any recognition for it.

Or something you spot every day that rarely gets celebrated.

Teachers and TAs see these little moments better than anyone, so we're handing this one over to you.

💬 What would you add to the list?

Share yours in the comments. We might discover a few things we should all be noticing a little more often.

⏱️ One minute. One product.

Today we're taking a closer look at our Small Desktop Collector.

Designed to sit neatly on a desk or table, it's a simple way for pupils to see their rewards build up as they earn them.

Each tube can represent a different house, class, team or group, turning individual rewards into visible progress that everyone can follow.

It's a great option for schools that want the impact of a visual reward system without needing a larger floor-standing collector.

🎥 Take a closer look at how it works, how much space it takes up and what it looks like once those tokens start adding up.

Could you see one of these in your classroom?

You've earned 10 tokens. Do you spend them now or keep saving?

Giving pupils a choice over how they use their reward tokens can introduce some surprisingly useful conversations around money skills.

If different rewards require different numbers of tokens, pupils have decisions to make.

Do I have enough?

Do I really want this reward?

Would I rather keep saving for something bigger?

How long will it take me to reach my goal?

It's a simple way to introduce ideas around saving, spending, patience and making choices without using real money.

And there doesn't have to be a "right" decision. One pupil might happily choose a smaller reward today while another decides they'd rather keep collecting.

💬 Try it with your class: if they could spend their tokens today or save for something bigger, which would they choose?

📚 If you could put ONE book in every primary classroom in the UK, what would it be?

Today is Read a Book Day, and we're handing this one over to the teachers, TAs, librarians and school staff who know exactly which books pupils come back to again and again.

It could be the book that gets reluctant readers interested.

The story your class asks you to read every year.

Something that makes everyone laugh.

Or a book with a message you think every child should hear.

The only rule: you can choose ONE. No sneaking in a whole series. 😂

💬 Drop the title and author in the comments.

We'll gather your recommendations together to create a TokensFor classroom reading list, so other schools can discover some new favourites too.

🍎 What would your pupils choose: a snack today or a bigger reward later?

That's the question we're asking for Snack-tember!

Imagine a pupil has worked hard to earn their reward tokens. Now give them two choices:

🍎 SNACK – exchange a few tokens for a healthy snack there and then.

🪙 SAVE – keep their tokens and work towards a bigger reward.

Which would win?

It's a fun way to add another choice to an existing reward system, while opening up simple conversations around saving, spending, patience and making decisions.

Of course, any food-based reward would need to work with your school's policies and individual dietary requirements and allergies.

But we really want to put this one to the test...

💬 Ask your pupils: SNACK or SAVE?

Then come back and tell us the result. We're predicting this could be a close one! 👀

🏫 What's your school house called?

We see some brilliant house names when we're creating tokens and reward systems for schools.

Some are named after famous people. Others celebrate local landmarks or historical figures. We've seen animals, school values, authors, explorers, scientists—and, of course, plenty that simply use colours.

But we're interested in the stories behind them.

💬 What are your school houses called, and how were the names chosen?

Share yours in the comments and help inspire other schools looking for ideas for their own house system.

We'll pick some of our favourite answers and put together a post featuring the most creative school house themes we discover. 👀

So let's see them...

School name + house names + the story behind them 👇

The first tokens of the new school year are in production!

While pupils are finding their new classrooms, teachers are learning a lot of new names and everyone is settling back into school routines, things are pretty busy here too.

Our machines are running and we're working our way through September's school orders.

From house points and classroom rewards to school values and whole-school systems, thousands of tokens will be making their way from our factory in Sheffield to schools across the UK over the coming weeks.

There's something quite satisfying about seeing the first school orders of a brand-new academic year coming off the machines.

🏫 Here's to a brilliant 2026/27 school year!

🏫 Schools are back... and so are the house points!

Today is also Back to Hogwarts Day, which got us thinking about the school house system.

School houses existed long before Harry Potter, of course, but Hogwarts introduced a whole generation to house colours, points and a healthy dose of competition.

Today, house systems are still going strong in schools across the UK, with pupils earning points for everything from achievement and effort to kindness, teamwork and demonstrating school values.

And we get to see some brilliant house names when schools come to us for their tokens and collectors. Some stick with colours, while others take inspiration from local history, famous people, landmarks, animals and plenty more.

So, for the first day of the new school year, we want to hear yours!

🏆 What are your school houses called?

Bonus points if you tell us their colours too. 👇
