The Sheffield Half Pint Marathon The ‘Half Pint Marathon’ is a month-long celebration of some of Sheffield’s best independent p It’s not about the race (unless you want it to be).

We’re turning 10 – and we’re going BIG to celebrate! The Sheffield Half Pint Marathon is back this September 2025, and this year it’s twice the size, twice the fun, and packed with even more pints, pubs, and proper Sheffield pride. For our 10th anniversary, we’re taking the celebration beyond the bar. Yes, it’s still about great b**r – but it’s also about what makes Sheffield so special: independent venues, local breweries, creative culture, and community spirit. Throughout the month, you'll explore 26 incredible pubs, taprooms, and bars (plus a few surprise bonus stops), with each one showcasing the heart and soul of Sheffield’s thriving scene. Whether you’re discovering a tucked-away microbrewery for the first time, or soaking up artwork from local artists on pub walls, this is your chance to celebrate everything that makes this city pour with personality. And don’t worry – you’ve got the whole of September to complete the marathon. Break it into weekends, tackle one neighbourhood at a time, or sprint through it all if that’s your vibe. Sheffield is consistently ranked one of the best UK cities for independent business, real ale, and community-led events – and this is your chance to be part of it. To take part, all you need to do is pop into one of the participating venues from 1st September and pick up your map and info sheet to get started. Over the month, visit as many of the 26 venues as you like – whether you’re aiming for a full or half marathon – and collect a stamp at each stop. Each venue will be pouring one of the official Half Pint Marathon b**rs, with 25p from every pint donated to Sheffield Mind. Prefer something else? No problem – just pop 25p into the charity tin and carry on. Once you’ve completed either 13 or all 26 stops, show your stamped map at any venue to collect your limited-edition 10th anniversary print. And don’t forget to check your map for extra challenges – from things to spot to photos to share on social media – there are surprise prizes to be won throughout the month. Take your time, go at your own pace, and soak up the spirit of the city as you go.

Created by Sheffield based artist and designer Max Armstrong, this year’s limited-edition print.

To get yours, simply visit 13 or more Half Pint Marathon venues and collect your stickers throughout September.

Once you’ve hit 13, show your completed card and collect your print. They’re currently available from participating True North venues, with more collection points being added soon.

The weekend is nearly here, so it’s the perfect time to get started. Grab your card, plan a route and look out for the official b**rs from Abbeydale Brewery and Triple Point – or drink what you fancy and donate to Sheffield Mind along the way.

Small but perfectly formed, this 4-stop Half Pint route is an easy one to fit into an afternoon or evening.

Take your time between stops, enjoy a wander around this side of Sheffield and make a detour through Endcliffe Park along the way.

Four venues, a nice walk and a few more stickers for your card. Sounds like a pretty good way to spend an afternoon.

Starting with the city centre route?

With 9 Half Pint Marathon venues within a nice little circuit, this is a great route to wander around, get your steps in and discover some brilliant Sheffield independents along the way.

Get the train in, leave the car behind and make the city centre your starting point.

Look out for the official b**rs from Abbeydale Brewery and Triple Point or drink something different and donate to Sheffield Mind in the collection tins as you go.

Our second official Half Pint Marathon b**r is here 🍺

KUDOS – Zulu Lime Radler from Triple Point.

Something a little different from the b**rs the Triple Point team usually brew, created especially for this year’s Half Pint Marathon.

A massive thank you to the team for getting behind it and brewing something special for the event.

🍻 The wait is over… here’s your 2026 Sheffield Half Pint Marathon line-up! 🍻

This year, the Half Pint Marathon is bigger than ever.

When so many fantastic independent pubs, bars and taprooms asked to be involved, we simply couldn’t say no… so this year’s trail has grown to an incredible 32 venues across Sheffield! 🙌

But don’t panic… this isn’t a race.

You’ve got the whole month of September to explore Sheffield at your own pace. Break it into neighbourhoods, make a few weekends of it, discover somewhere new or revisit an old favourite.

You only need 13 stickers/ half pints to earn your limited-edition finishers print, but why stop there? There are 32 amazing independent businesses ready to welcome you.

The Sheffield Half Pint Marathon has always been about more than great b**r. It’s about celebrating Sheffield’s independent hospitality scene, local breweries and the communities that make these places so special.
