WHAT’S ON THIS WEEK AT ALDER

Tonight we have Verbal gerbil spoken word back again with their spoken word cabaret show at 7:30pm

Tuesday we’ve got Story Forge, back with another exceptional show of live storytelling with enchanting, absurd and eloquent queer-remix of traditional Scottish traveller and Grimm folk tales. Starts at 7:30pm

Wednesday we’ve got our weekly quiz w/ special prized from beres pork shop, starting at 8pm

Friday we’ve got a show from Chill Cabinet a live local music act that performs live covers and renditions of classic trip-hop, downtempo, and chillout tracks, starting at 8pm and free entry

Saturday we are closed for a private party!

Sunday we are open again as usual :)

Footprints Open Jazz Jam is back

Every second Thursday at Alder we host the popular for their monthly jazz jam.

Come down with your instrument, sign your name up and see what comes out on the day!

Some instruments and amps are provided, and if the weather is good we usually do it outside.

7:30pm start, free entry and spectators are highly welcomed!

🥃 JAPANESE WHISKY DELIVERY 🥃

The nights are getting shorter, the evenings are getting colder and that isn’t always a bad thing.

Three new bottles arrive on our shelves to help you with the weather switch up.

The Matsui - Single Malt - Sakura Cask

Sakura is a Japanese cherry wood which is used to make the barrels that this whisky is matured in. It brings with it a light sweet and floral profile perfect for those late summer evenings.

Hibiki - Japanese Harmony

This is a classic Japanese blended whisky which is superbly balanced with a lovely sweetness to it. Proper easy drinker this one (one of Ethan’s all time favourites)

The Kurayoshi - Pure Malt Whisky - Sherry Cask

Who doesn’t love a sherry cask? This one is an interesting one, with the whisky inside sourced in Scotland and shipped over to Japan and stuck in sherry casks for 3 years and then finished in sherry oak barrels. A Japanese Scotch? Sign me up. Raisin, baked bread and some lovely dark sweetness.

Our whisky shelves are ever changing so pop down for a dram. We guarantee there will be something for you up there.

We will be having the lovely Monqi playing a show here on the 14th of November! She is a Sheffield based singer-songwriter, her music is a combination of beautiful poetic storytelling, intimate folk, and rich/haunting instrumentals.

She will be supported by Lou Gold, a London born/Sheffield based artist creating warm, captivating alt-folk and indie-folk music. It is heavily driven by her acoustic guitar and a passion for poetic storytelling.

We’ve got a very special event to announce!! On the 5th of September we’ll be hosting a Palestine Fundraiser & supporting the incredible Palestine Children’s Relief Fund

From 1pm we’ll have Chumz doing some live mural painting

We’ve got some great DJs playing funky and worldly music from 2:30-7:30pm

There will be a raffle with prizes donated from some of our favourite local businesses, all proceeds will be going to the children’s fund

Finally we’ll have some delicious homemade cakes and bakes for sale!

Starts at 1pm, free entry
